Just take someone out in your car with you thats got a road angel or tom tom navigation. That'll give you a proper top speed reading, i'd bet money that 140mph on your clocks isn't correct, unfortunatly speedo's tend to be a little out with the changing or wheels sizes etc etc etc

That's very true. My mate has a 2.0 8v Cav and his showed 140mph on his clocks. This was with standard wheels on as well.

Measured with my sat nav this was 123mph so I reckon the clocks were well out.

Are you using the 2.0 16v loom? Do you have the GSi computer screen thingy, this tells you what speed you are doing, you may have the connectors not doing anything behind the dash board or something. It's connected to the ABS so it's quite accurate.

not shure wot loom it is but i know its the cav 16v sri motor which will do 135mph stadard so i think 140 in my corsa is posible an its runing 167.5 bhp
