Has anyone got one of these knocking about that they dont use.

I did have 2 but lost one and one of our cats has knocked and smashed the other.

Is it the same as a Battery Hydrometer?

Good question Loco.

I dont think it is,it checks Specific gravity.

Hydrometers have different ranges of specific gravity dependent on what they are designed to test.

A few rough examples ....

Battery acid 1.2 - 1.3
Wine 0.9 - 1.1
Car coolant 1 - 1.2
