Hi I may be able to help you out, will PM u later.

Just to wet your taste buds, asus rampage extreme, 8 gb ram quad core intel.... Mmmm

Damn, my taste buds appreciate the offer, but I managed to grab a fairly decent deal for £250 already, it was reduced for a quick sale so I acted fast on it.

You seem to have a lot of decent bits fairly regularly though, so may come to you first when I look to upgrade mine if that is OK with you?

Yeah sure mate. I have the q9450 chip with board and ram, needs case and gpu but otherwise a great system in your price range. Let me know if you need anything, im the man for mid to high end kit!

Sounds good, mine is currently a Q6600 with a GTX280 (which I got from you IIRC). I recently ordered an Oculus Rift, so that will be the pushing point on needing an upgrade if games are struggling.

The base I managed to get today was an i5 3.2, 8GB Ram and a Radeon HD5870. The biggest limiting factor with it is the HD (250GB SATA), but that is something easily upgraded.

I think I did OK out of it for £250.

Yeah it's ok, good price, what generation is the i5?

Im dead keen to here more about the VR headset though. Let me know how that goes! How much did u pay for it?

Not sure which generation, I'll let you know when I get a chance to connect it up.

I paid $357 for the Rift directly from Oculus, it worked out at around £222 and pennies. It was actually a lot cheaper buying new than buying second hand from ebay! My guess for that is that supply is not meeting demand, so there is a wait time on delivery. I ordered mine at the end of October, and will be lucky to see it this side of Christmas.

They have only released a Devkit version so far, it doesn't have the spec of the final retail version, but that isn't due out until Q4 2014. So for now I'm just getting the Devkit which can be considered as a 'lite' version of the final retail.

I am really looking forward to it, the reaction videos on Youtube make it look great. Some reactions may be for show, but the general consensus seems to be that it is a brilliant experience.

There are a few immerse tech demos appearing, but I can't wait to try Portal 2, Half Life 2, etc. There are a few horror games I want to try out too. wink

Here's a particularly good looking non-game app I can't wait to try.

My son wants it for Minecraft lol.

I would love to program for it using Unity or Unreal, but my programming skills are limited to BASIC laugh
