i am looking for 1950s copies of the birkenhead news.

Go to the archive offices down by woodside, they have every copy of the News and Globe. You have to make an appointment so they have time to dig the copies out for you.

The last time I was at the archives looking at the Birkenhead News, the only way to copy them was to take a photograph. Free of charge but the lady did comment, this may change in the future.

thanks for your comments,but i was after buying some.ive been to the archives a few times and they always help.i also got the head teachers log book from my school,in the 50s.it made fascinating reading,had my name in for passing the 11 plus in 1958.must go back anhave a couple of hours reading it.
