You talkin about the Mazda, Lee? I shall keep my eyes peeled for you, what sort of budget you looking at?
Posted By: Waddi Re: Cheap car with atleast 6month MOT - 15th Dec 2009 5:07pm
Yep the Mazda, Apparantly the big end has gone and the piston hitting the valves and something about the oil and hydrolics, It was all gobbley gook until he said atleast £1800 to fix, in the current market, dont think the car is even worth that, thinking of scrapping and getting a <£500 run around to get me to work and back till next may, when my Daughter becomes eligible for Motability.

Have you tried sorcing a replacement engine? or birkenhead engines?

I sold my escort gti on ebay earlier this year for £116.

It was nothing special but had 5 months T&T.

I was actually gutted that it didn't sell for more but that's what you get for starting auctions at 99p right?

My point is :-

You'll get a decent run around on ebay for less than £500 - if you're not fussy, then just go for anything that's cheap but has T&T.

You might just be surprised how long it lasts, lol.

Good luck

It's the putting back in that's the hard part. It took me about 2 years to put a Skyline engine back in.
