Have just recieved this from Wallesey Crime Prevention Team

Quote
The Traffic Wardens are working together with the Safer Wirral Team to try and cut down on car crime.

If items inside a vehicle can be clearly seen, Traffic Wardens are making a note of the make of car, together with the registration number, which will then be checked for the owners details and they will receive a letter together with car crime prevention information leaflets.

The amount of vehicles with items left on display is extremely high. Will you please make all your members aware of the actions being taken

If people are stupid enough to leave stealable items on show, maybe the traffic wardens should smash the windows and put the items in a safe place for the owners to collect so they dont get stolen by real criminals... grin

I'm split two ways about this - if I want to leave my stuff in my car then I should be able to without the fear that some scrote will steal them but we do live in a "broken" crime-ridden society!

I do wonder sometimes about how inteligent some people are - there's a car that parks along the street from me that always has stuff on the passenger seat and one morning I noticed that they'd left their swipe card for work and cash card on the top of the dash board..........

Maybe reducing the fine instead of giving letters out.
Yeh can you imagine the hit list they could pass on,
as i would suspect Traffic Wardens wouldn't care too hoots
what's on your seat when there is commission to be made
on slapping tickets on cars.

I would settle for a fairer Traffic Warden.

O well.

I've received 3 or 4 car crime prevention information leaflets through the door over the past few months, and yet I never leave anything valuable in the car???

All traffic wardens are idiots anyway. Tossers.
