I agree it does need to be lowered. I can get a 40mm drop for 250squids, 40mm is the max as that hefty steel engine sits very low and weighs a tonne! should be running about 175bhp now with masses of torque! (im still gettin use to it). as for the old chip i had i took that out ages ago only using it when i wanted to thrash it about but now all my power is ready on tap. low profile tyres have given better handling but thers more stuff to do:

1. Lowered
2. Tinted
3. strut brace
4. back box
5. de-cat

The pd tuning box was just a plug in an play box that couldnt give as much extra bhp as a remapped ECU. I have all the old data from the ECU stored on a little chip incase i ever want to return it back to standard.

here's more eye candy!

few more little things done.

paper machea bumber!
[Linked Image]

taped the lights for spraying
[Linked Image]

very sutle mod
[Linked Image]

[Linked Image]

[Linked Image]

Also done a Pikey mod, allowing more air to the intercooler that is
hidden away by the wheel arch smack
still needs more cutting and filing then an exit to be made for the hot air
into the wheel arch.

4500!!!! and thats just the parts! is this going through the insurance? anything your going to change from what is was before the crash? different colour etc?
Posted By: Mark Re: Whelan- Fabia VRS - 1st May 2006 9:34pm
I was just wondering that too?

Didnt the Insurance Comapny,
write it off?

How come your prepared to pay £4,500
on parts alone?

Like the tweak with the lights.

I always wanted a paper machea bumber too sorry

at fist the garage said that the car was a right off so the insurance company sent a specialist to go an confirm what they said. He said that the car can be fixed at a high price but with the cars value being high too they thought it worth while to fix it.

paper machea bumbers are a cost effective alternitive to carbon fibre. I am the only person qualified to carry it out in the UK! doh

As for changing the cars colour, i dont think i have that option, its all gettin fixed by Liverpool Victoria @ vauxhall?!? of all places help

just noticed in this picture im parked next to the CID! pc

Posted By: scoop Re: Whelan- Fabia VRS - 19th May 2006 6:28pm
If the whole car gets resprayed at the end of it all then the garage can do it in a different colour providing it costs no more than it would to do it standard, altho black is a sweet colour so i wouldnt change it if it were mine

How much longer til its back on the road mate?
Posted By: Wheels Re: Whelan- Fabia VRS - 19th May 2006 8:32pm
well...
-=last week=-

I was told i will get in on monday15th this month, rang them monday an they said they need to do the brakes and they are having problems getting there computer to open some valves or something think so was told it will be wednesday.

-=wednesday=-09:30
they said they cant do the brakes so have sent it to skoda.I ring skoda 3hours later and they say the car has only just come in and is now on the ramps and should be about 1hour to fix. 15:00 ring the garage only to over hear some tit in the background say 'its not a 5min job'(no its an hour job and its been in for 2 1/2). i told him to ring skoda and find out whats goin on and call me back. 17:30 get a call to say the call is 100% fixed and just needs cleaning. i told them dont bother cleaning it i just want my car back. He says 'NO we have special cleaning stuff for your car' think but i want my car back if its fixed! they told me no they want to clean it and i can pick it up 2morra at 12:00

-= Today 19th =- 12:45 <---yer i was late

I go to lookers and walk around the back to collect my car. only to find this....

[Linked Image]

WTF!!!?!?! I was told it was 100% fixed! Special cleaning stuff my arse! well not happy with anything. they said they cleaned it all inside so i looked in .........

[Linked Image]

nice dashbord hey..
all they done was spray everything with some grease and made it slippy and cover all the glass and dials in it.

[Linked Image]

There is big gaps in the bodywork too that are not even to the otherside.

parts are missing from the engine bay and are locked away in some blokes locker and he has gone on holiday and wont be back till tuesday23rd

I told the insurance company everything and there is nothing they can do. but they did tell me that Lookers have now topped up a bill of 5.3k for fixing the car. and have asked for more today to fix other things. Liverpool Victoria said they have nearly reached the cut off point were they WILL write off the car! eek .

Im never taking a car to lookers again.

-=**** ups=-
car fixed date changed about 5tims

forgot to paint things they replaced

no RS badge

New Scratch's and dints

Dash not fixed in and 20+ screws in ashtray

Replaced 1x alloy wheel that had 10000000% nothing wrong with it

Wonky bonnet

Fueling problem

took my RS embroided floor mats out and put Grey corsa ones in (why the funk replace the floor mats?)

Im gonna stop now cos im p!ssed off. but you get the picture.
Posted By: scoop Re: Whelan- Fabia VRS - 19th May 2006 8:58pm

What can i say that how vauxhall make their cars lol, stay well away from them hope your reading this lawton lol
Posted By: lawton Re: Whelan- Fabia VRS - 21st May 2006 12:11pm
yes , iam reading this, but if you had told me that you was taking it to that lookers i would of told you no to bother, all i have ever heard is bad thing s about the garage, my mum and dad bought a brand new corsa from there last year and the clutch was really stiff and not right, my mum took it back there twice and they kept in for a day each time and they said nothing was wrong, i took it in on the third time and kicked off about it and they didnt want to no,
its just the garage, there crap and havent got a clue what they are doing
Posted By: red20 Re: Whelan- Fabia VRS - 21st May 2006 12:55pm
wot happend. when i crashed my car an it went into lookers they wudnt tell me a thing when i phoned up to talk to them. then they told my is was a right of then they told me that the car was still at there premises an when i went up to get my tax out of it an a few other bits they had sent it to be scraped an i wasnt happy

Lol, I went there once... once tease

Really am gutted for you mate, gotta be careful about who you trust especially when it comes down to leaving your pride and joy with them.
Posted By: Cali_16v Re: Whelan- Fabia VRS - 26th May 2006 9:52am
I could of told what garages like when insurance companies are involved, there are just pains in the ar*e. the number of phone calls i took about cars not being ready and people being in the same situation as you is beyond beleaf(sp).

I would of told them i was taking it to a garage of my choice and thats all there is to it. you are allowed to do this as its just cheaper for an insurance company to use a garage on its panel as they get discount on parts and labour.
