thanks for the comments guys.

whats your thoughts on it being spoilerless?

Im thinking of de-wipering the rear. what ya reckon?
Posted By: Waddi Re: Waddi's Astra MK4 SXi - 31st Jul 2007 12:22am
C'mon guys, I value your opinions......
Posted By: Mark Re: Waddi's Astra MK4 SXi - 31st Jul 2007 7:54am
being spoilerless?
do you mean just taking off the wiper ?
I cant see any spoiler at the back?
Posted By: Waddi Re: Waddi's Astra MK4 SXi - 31st Jul 2007 8:05am
Thats what I mean, It is currently spoilerless, and I sort of like the smooth lines, Was asking if you thought a spoiler would "spoil" it.

Was thinking of de-wipering to add to the smooth lines and tinting the rear windows, b pillar back. whats the law on tinting nowadays.
Posted By: Mark Re: Waddi's Astra MK4 SXi - 31st Jul 2007 8:35am
My advice would be 1 thing at a time?

Remove the wiper and see what you think,
then if you like that go for a spoiler.

You will need something to make it look different wink

got any example pics ?
Posted By: Waddi Re: Waddi's Astra MK4 SXi - 31st Jul 2007 8:49am
I dont think anyone has done what I'm thinking of before, everyone just seems to go for the Sri or GSi spoiler. so no example pics sorry, will attempt a photoshop tho.

I was thinking smooth, de-wiper, no spoiler, De-ariel with one of those internal ariel strips like the older BMW's had.

looks good mate.

location could have been better though...where is that ferry funnel?

couldnt comment the other day cas fotopic was blocked on the comps i was using on the ship
Posted By: Waddi Re: new pics - 31st Jul 2007 7:56pm
Im cr@p at choosing a location, but my pics are usually a spare of the moment thing, as I nearly always have my camera on me, was just driving around one day when I was early for work and seen that funnel and wanted to take pics of my car next to it.

Directions to the funnel:

on the A41, turn at the village hotel in bromborough pool,
road bends to the right and you come to a set of lights on a crossroads.
if you are at the correct palce then at the 2oclock position is CPUK (my work)
Continue over the lights and past CPUK on the right and the site of the old power station on the left.
Take the next left after the old powerstation site.
road bends to the right and the funnel is on the left hand side.

I have included a photoshop of a rough idea on how it would look wiperless

OMG that N80 camera owns Nokia's new flagship camera's (N95/N73), the colour processing is spot on, and none of this shitty colour algorythm that makes everything too contrasty and vibrant and fake!

Car looks great as well!
Posted By: MattLFC Re: Waddi's Astra MK4 SXi - 30th Aug 2007 8:29pm
I ad a very quick play with the first photo in Paintshop Pro 8, and that camera is amazing for a phone camera, ya deffo went for a goodun there. Its up alongside the K800 imho (possibly missing a bit of detail in comparison, but thats about it).

Gonna get some great results with it even though I managed to make it a bit noisy lol! smile

Thanks Mate, I feel all smug with myself now.

What exactly have you done to the pic, I can notice the difference in the colours etc but what did you adjust to create it.
Posted By: Waddi Re: Waddi's Astra MK4 SXi - 30th Aug 2007 8:58pm
oh yeah aswell Matty, they have been resized to 640 x 480 from the original 2048 x 1536
Posted By: MattLFC Re: Waddi's Astra MK4 SXi - 30th Aug 2007 9:02pm
Just a few subtle changes in PSP 8 (quite an old program by todays standards, but I really like using it compared to CS3).

I changed the colour balance slightly, to make it a bit warmer, played abit with the boldness and contrast, made it a touch more saturated, and sharpened it a bit. Oh I also lowered the brightness a touch.

Only took a few seconds to get it like that, it goes to show how good the image quality is, a few minutes and it would probably have been better with less noise lol.

smile
Posted By: MattLFC Re: Waddi's Astra MK4 SXi - 30th Aug 2007 9:05pm
I think CS3 would have given off less noise if I had used that for sharpening as it is much better then PSP8, but the time it takes CS3 to load, I had done all these changes already in PSP lmao!

smile

I dont think the owners would be too happy if a load of modded cars turned up on their small car park. its has very bad access down a pot holed ridden dirt track.

So I may keep it a little secret for now, ha ha ha devil
