Posted By: scoop Re: Dazza's : Ford Escort Mk6 - 15th Jan 2005 3:52pm
He definately does need his suspension sorting. The forces but on the car by the power of the engine and strenth of the brakes make it tilt forwards and backwards so much it great to watch.(But cars shouldnt do that)You dont need your cars nose lifting under acceleration through a corner as it lessens the tires grip on the road. You want all 4 wheels planted
Oh yeah
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Dazza's : Ford Escort Mk6 - 15th Jan 2005 8:15pm
Needs side skirts yes I like it though. Shame he rags her everywhere wink
Posted By: Cali_16v Re: Dazza's : Ford Escort Mk6 - 15th Jan 2005 8:20pm
thats the way a woman, sorry car should be treated.
Posted By: scoop Re: Dazza's : Ford Escort Mk6 - 17th Jan 2005 3:02am
No it isnt daz, driving hard is how it shud be done. The stuff dazza does just eats tires. I hope you dont give him ur calibra for a go. Yes it looks cool but it kills tires clutches and engines
Posted By: Dazza Re: Dazza's : Ford Escort Mk6 - 17th Jan 2005 2:35pm
Thats abit harsh, everyone knows iv had problems recently due to unreliable 'mechanics' but a trip to AUTOSAFE has sorted the Escort out and its now my baby again - am currently sourcing parts for it so i re-opened this Escort Topic.

Posted By: Dazza Re: Dazza's : Ford Escort Mk6 - 18th Jan 2005 2:57pm
The S'cort is getting VIP treatment, shes been naughty due to the winter and shes getting treated now. Also just purchased this to continue on from the whole BHP chase iv got goin before my RollingRoad day - Another 'toy' will be on its way but i'll wait till iv defo got it before i mention it smile
Those that dont know this is a Mondeo 2.0 K&N panelfilter, Panelfilters dont suck hot air in like cone's and it gets HOT under my bonnet!
[Linked Image]
Posted By: Dazza Re: Dazza's : Ford Escort Mk6 - 19th Jan 2005 3:33pm
Rather suprised it arrived today the K&N, iv just fit it and took it for a testdrive.
It is raspier and smoother and am quite impressed - iv just came in to have Sayers pasty and then am off out to drill the airbox.

ill let ya's know what I think at a later date
Posted By: scoop Re: Dazza's : Ford Escort Mk6 - 19th Jan 2005 3:48pm
Driiling the airbox hhmm. I think that is just gonna let hot air in matey. Get a ram pipe to shoot the cold air at the panel thru a hole cut for it.Y dont u get a ram air indi kit like a viper or BMC
Posted By: Dazza Re: Dazza's : Ford Escort Mk6 - 19th Jan 2005 3:51pm
Pointless. Iv been recommended by FEOC that just a coldair feed (like i have) will do with a few holes drilled faceing away from the Manifold i.e away from heat.
Posted By: scoop Re: Dazza's : Ford Escort Mk6 - 19th Jan 2005 3:58pm
alreet matey.Hopefully it gets u the figures u want. Fancy a lightweight flywheel?
Posted By: Dazza Re: Dazza's : Ford Escort Mk6 - 19th Jan 2005 4:01pm
How much and was it just skimmed or what? Need a spec on it before I commit as iv already got ideas of my own wink

Just bought this laugh

The wiring is there for these and you litteraly just plug/unplug them. Bought them b'cos my car doesnt have a Tachometer. I bought a triplepod for gauges on my A-piller and I did a rushed job of fitting them so there going ASAP.

Think is tho I want to keep my Voltmeter (for install) but want to mount it somewhere but unsure of where it can go.
Possibly fit it in the dash where a passenger airbag should go on other models but means id have to buy another airbag panel no

Any idea's?
Posted By: scoop Re: Dazza's : Ford Escort Mk6 - 12th Feb 2005 11:28pm
Dude is that set of clocks plugged in yet cos as you know i fitted my ones a few weeks back and trust me,the cable is not there.U will have to refer to the wiring diagram for the model and engine size of ur 2.oL engine and feed the wire to the correct bit of ur blue plug on the back of the clocks(think its the 4th one up from the bottom,it is above the black cable with the orange band) the feed will either come from the ECU or the distributer electronics unit. The people who did ur engine conversion may have fitted this wire for u but it was not there as standard trust me

Tell us how u get on
Posted By: Dazza Re: Dazza's : Ford Escort Mk6 - 12th Feb 2005 11:34pm
They'll go straight in my Escort Finesse. Remember am a FEOC member and they are a direct swop on the Finesse mate

88bhp @ 1.6 (Estimate)
126.7 @ 2.0

An increase of 38.7 BHP.
The figure was exactly what I wanted as the engine has a fueling problem which I have known about since I got it done.

The fueling issue can be sorted by a few tweeks and a live-mapped Unichip, this will take my figure to about 160BHPish and will sort the Torque curve, any flat spots and generaly make it run smoother all around.
Posted By: Dazza Re: Dazza's : Ford Escort Mk6 - 17th Mar 2005 12:08pm
Opps may i add, I got a De-Cat fitted the morning before the RollingRoad. How did everyone thing it sounded?

Oh and I have now stripped the interior so its rallystylee

Pics to come soon guys laugh
Posted By: Meesh Re: Dazza's : Ford Escort Mk6 - 17th Mar 2005 7:41pm
so the installs gone aswell?

do any parts of the install need a home? laugh
Posted By: Dazza Re: Dazza's : Ford Escort Mk6 - 19th Mar 2005 1:21pm
Install MAY come back but if it does not all of it, would only be there to add to the acoustics of the speakers.

Latest pic of nakedness:

Just needs a few more touches to make it look better.

Someone mentiond the idea of a polished rearstrut brace and have my harness connected to them - I like this idea as i have a polished chrome strutbrace under the bonnet. Need 2 do more research/think laugh

you should get more out of it once the fueling is sorted!
130 standard from the factory but if you have decat and full system k&n u shud be over the 130 mark i would have thought?
Posted By: Dazza Re: Dazza's : Ford Escort Mk6 - 28th Mar 2005 6:32pm
Thats true if the fueling was sorted, am 10BHP down cos of it. That is one of the things am sorting once my cheque clears i hope - Basicly 150BHP is on the cards so watch this space laugh

Posted By: aceritz Re: Dazza's : Ford Escort Mk6 - 28th Mar 2005 7:41pm
i was just thinking that it was missing the aggression of a front bumper

and your exhaust needs to be pushed out a bit at the back bumper, maybe a nice polished steel can???
Posted By: Dazza Re: Dazza's : Ford Escort Mk6 - 28th Mar 2005 7:42pm
Am liking the input Aceritz, and there the exact thoughts iv had.

What's wrong with the fuelling? Do you know why it's using so much? I've been there, and know how frustrating it is.
Posted By: Dazza Re: Dazza's : Ford Escort Mk6 - 2nd Apr 2005 8:16pm
Yea its cos the ECU needs a set-up to re-configure the new engine etc

As I say nothing the Uni-chip cant sort laugh

Thanx for the conceren fella
Posted By: DavidB Re: Dazza's : Ford Escort Mk6 - 2nd Apr 2005 8:27pm
Can't you get an ECU from the car that shares your engine?
Posted By: Dazza Re: Dazza's : Ford Escort Mk6 - 2nd Apr 2005 8:29pm
Nope cos the donner car uses PAT system and other 'tricks' so am on good nature that it cant be done frown

Posted By: Rennie Re: Dazza's : Ford Escort Mk6 - 5th Apr 2005 12:31pm
get a 2.0 ecu from an early mondeo as they dont use pats and is ment to free the engine up a little bit more than using the 1.6 ecu (i guess you are using it)

snap iv got the same car mk 7 escort si 2L zetec 1.6 g box did you you use the lighter 1.6 flywheel aswell at the mo im still using the 1.6 ecu have you put a 2L one in if so is it eny better and did you need to mod the water pump
Posted By: Dazza Re: Dazza's : Ford Escort Mk6 - 16th Apr 2005 12:01pm
Yes i used the 1.6 flywheel - The 2.0 wont fit as it will only go in the MTX75 gearbox (Mondeo) as to are IB5 box.

2.0 ECU wont fit, alot of people say it will and wont and verdict is it wont. Its to do with the 60pin set-up and PAT, the Mondeo is the only car that has BOTH 60pin and PAT and aparently the wiring is v different. I have a friend that is investigating as to if an adapter can be made - ill keep you posted.

and if you use the 1600 waterpump it should go straight on my mate laugh
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Dazza's : Ford Escort Mk6 - 16th Apr 2005 12:38pm
raftl Anyone for a flat tyre tease sorry daz, couldnt resist smile
Posted By: Dazza Re: Dazza's : Ford Escort Mk6 - 16th Apr 2005 12:50pm

There goin to be 15"s and will get 205's on after awhile (God dam monthly pay!)

i take it u 2 never crossed the looms over on ur engine swap?!
Posted By: Dazza Re: Dazza's : Ford Escort Mk6 - 16th Apr 2005 1:14pm
Cant swop the looms my friend!

Its ok iv sourced some 15's now just need to get some tyres sorted for it. i'll take a pic of my flat 17 and post it - Its got a BIG rip in it so i was lucky!
Posted By: neovo1 Re: Dazza's : Ford Escort Mk6 - 17th Apr 2005 12:31am
iv got the later black top engine so i couldn’t mount the power steering pump or the altlternator as the water pumps are different and my oil filter is on the block so my power steering pressure switch is knocking against it iv got to get the piping of a mondy to fix it its good to know someone has done the same swap I hope to have a chat on a cruise one day
Posted By: neovo1 Re: Dazza's : Ford Escort Mk6 - 17th Apr 2005 1:13am
ps are you useing the 2L manifold as the one on my car is to big and knocks against the brake bar iv just got the older EFI version of a 18 mondy to stop the noise
Posted By: Dazza Re: Dazza's : Ford Escort Mk6 - 17th Apr 2005 1:10pm
Nope not the 2.0 Manifold, it also doesnt mate to the escort downpipe.

You say your using the Blacktop engine - This engine uses Variable Valve timing? and i thought it couldnt be fitted without extensive work i.e Full front end of a car.

Also got my rims yesterday as planned, there 15" Cosworth alloys and am sticking 205/50/15's on them today (Sunday) and am getting them sprayed Black to keep the theme on my car. Also if there Black i wont miss my 17"s so much lol!

Pics v soon laugh
Posted By: Rennie Re: Dazza's : Ford Escort Mk6 - 17th Apr 2005 10:04pm
everyone who uses the mondeo 2.0 in the fiestas use the 2.0 DEEP ecu.
already told you this tease
it will work with your engine.
Posted By: neovo1 Re: Dazza's : Ford Escort Mk6 - 18th Apr 2005 12:33am
i ment the inlet manifold from the 2L im still yousing the 1.6 exhaust manifold and iv had no real problems puting it in just the water pump and the power steering pump/ alternater mount needed work il post some pics soon
