Hi everyone

I'm a newbie to wiki Wirral and require some help. I bought a 83 944 for not a lot of money which had been stuck in the back of a warehouse and not ran for 3-4 years. After putting on new
Ignition switch (split in 2)
Fuel pump (seized)
Fuel filter
Drained and put in new fuel
Battery
Fuel pump relay
The car would turn over but not fire as the fuel pump was not getting any power. I put power direct to fuel pump via 12v jump start pack got the pump goin and the car started first time.
I'm no mechanic just a tryer and I'm guessing it could be alarm (wire hanging loose) or immobiliser which has been crudely snipped out.
Could anyone help me out with a auto electrician or someone who knows there way around these motors. They would have to come to me as the car hasn't been on the road since 2004.
Sorry about the essay just want to get all info out, I look forward to hearing from you
Kev

if it's nothing to do with the alarm check the hall sensor.
Posted By: diggingdeeper Re: Project 944 - 6th Jan 2012 8:44pm
Can't be sensor otherwise it wouldn't start with the fuel pump relay (or DME relay) bypassed

Just to let you guys know put her in for MOT on sat and fail on insufficient water squirting on window screen and fog lights not working.
So willow was called in to sort fog lights and I gave the water pipes and jets a good clean took it back in and have now got the MOT.
Happy days. Still a long way to go put going in the right direction.

Is anyone familiar with the cambelt and balance shaft belts, it's a 83 model. Gonna need them changing as don't know when they where last changed.
I have the belts just need someone who knows how to do it. Gonna be ready in about a month or so. Just putting feelers out and how much will it cost.
Thanks
Kev
