Sweet love the name of the bike kidda

Whats a jack up kit????
Posted By: sean Re: Wheels Suzuki Bandit 600 - 14th Jun 2010 5:44pm
a jack off kit is a tube of butt lube and a latex glove
Posted By: Wheels Re: Wheels Suzuki Bandit 600 - 14th Jun 2010 5:50pm
"Jack up kit" raises the rear end of the bike higher and gives it a much better look, it also makes the bike turn in quicker.

well my 40mm kit arrived so I set about fitting it today smile

Bike on center stand and on top of 2 40mm slabs (the rear wheel will drop down once the old links are taken out) Rear break/footrest undone and held out the way and the same for the gear pedal/footrest on the other side.

[Linked Image]

Rear wheel supported by bricks to take the weight off the links as they are undone.

[Linked Image]

Rug to keep me off the cold floor lol and gear pedal/footrest removed

[Linked Image]

old kit out and 2 new gold 40mm links
[Linked Image]

left and right side fitted (not tightened)

[Linked Image]

mmm grease
[Linked Image]

All Done
[Linked Image]

Took just over half an hour to complete

[Linked Image]

I haven't been out on it yet to try out the handling but it feel's a lot higher to sit on so good times smile

Next up... indicators or something else smile

Mini update:

Put a new bridgestone on the rear as the old tyre was 160 wide when it should of been 150. Chucked it through an MOT and it came out shining. Adding another 12month tax tonight.

Had a problem with fueling and then found it to be a blocked breather in the filler cap. Ordered a set of Morgan carbtune pro || gauges to balance my carbs and that arrived the other day. I tested it last night as I had a suspicion that cylinder 2 way working harder than the others (that header was warner before the others during start up)

When I plugged my gauges in it was pretty much confirmed.

[Linked Image]

As you can see 2 tends to be higher than the other 3 cylinders. I will be balancing the carbs on my next day off. But to be fair I thought it was gonna be worse than that smile little Suzy is a good bike smile

Just ordered :

New rear undertray
LED rear brake lights
LED rear indicators
Numberplate tail tidy

Still to do:
Balance carbs
Buy exhaust and new headlights smile
Posted By: _Ste_ Re: Wheels Suzuki Bandit 600 - 1st Sep 2010 8:58pm
When they coming?
Get the photos up!
Sound nice additions smile
Posted By: Wheels Re: Wheels Suzuki Bandit 600 - 1st Sep 2010 9:20pm
Just ordered them tonight so hopefully sat or Monday frown

They should help Bring the rear of the bike up to date. Not sure if I'm going to need resistors for the indicators yet . Modern LED indicators use less power than the old bulbs so they tends to flash too fast and it won't pass an MOT like that.

Pics will be up as soon as I get them all together smile

I'm on the look out for something different for my headlights, don't really want to fit the twin dominators as they are common among the bandit crowd.

Got loads to do so finding it hard to get around to doing everything, if the weather is nice tomorrow I will do the carb balance and if time I will start on the cutting for the lights to fit the undertray. Need to go out and buy a pop rivit gun to attach the plate holder and some wire connectors.

Just ordered a new smaller num plate too with the bandit forum site on the bottom.

Also just ordered my scala rider Q2 Bluetooth head sets... £155 :S

Looks a lot more modern happy
Posted By: Wheels Re: Wheels Suzuki Bandit 600 - 10th Sep 2010 6:33pm
Tar Ste smile

Fitted the new Micron today, couldn't use the old gauss gasket and it cost me £24 for a new one, also the old clamp rusted and snapped when I undone it so a few more quid on that too. Sounds lovely now, shut off the power from 7/8k and she purrs and pops smile
