Sorry been shit busy with work, right...

Don`t know much about these but as far as i know its real (extras new at purchase on reciept when bought new) confused

Spotted this on Ebay and had to have it smile

Has no tax or MOT, booked in for Thursday @ 1pm

Comes as you see it, has the following...

Scorpion Full SS Exhuast system
Full enclosure Thatcham Cat1 Alarm/imobboliser
Tracker system
K&N
Full lowered suspension
18" M3 Alloys
Momo whatever wheel?
Full leather interiour
Wood trim

Full Service history
Ultra low milage

As you see it is as i got it, picked it up today, been under a tree in a back garden for 12 months, owned by an elderly man for ten years, got rid due to being a tad low and he now has a merc.
He paid £1100 for the wheels & £1020 for the tracker and alarm.

Car drives spot on, pulls well, sounds amazing and not too loud and has a low milage.

Let the games begin.... smile

Must of been his dads car mate, he`s had it for 10 years!

Cars from Houghton Rd off the Upton bypass.

Could of been, the lad lived in wales who drove it iirc. Just seen the add on ebay and it is the car.

It was on a site called MNR.

That's nice, colour is nice and the seats are nice as well. what engine is in it? Is AC Schnitzer a body kit or more??

Love the e36. Ive had a few. Have you got the stright 6? I dont think its an orig ac tho. Classic looks from the e36. Love the wheels smile Got a r reg 325 with 64k in hell rot smile 18mpg round town frown !
Posted By: _Ste_ Re: Ste: BMW E36 AC SCHNITZER S3 - 9th Jun 2010 11:10am
Ac also do performance tuning, yes this is the straight 6 2.5 litre, sounds like a ferrari when you accelerate, blooming gorgeous sound, can`t wait to get it on the road frown

Love the E36 myself, had a few but never a 2.5.
Think it will fail on brakes.
Booked in for the MOT tomorrow at 1pm

Yea i think thats why only get 18mpg round town! The sound you get is such a legend, ive got a remus on mine nice and quiet wink
I get 0-46 in 1st gear 46-65 in 2nd 65-85 in 3rd i need to really get the manifold changed! Also there is mod wich takes 5mins to do. If the airbox is the orig open it up and you will find a restrictor. Youll get a nice sound too

If you get it MOT'd and the brakes done for less than a £100 then you'll have the bargain of 2010.

smile
it failed on...

Windshield wipers
Foglamp
Headlamp aim
Front pads
And a weld to the o/s/f sill

This car is up for sale/swaps/ p/x welcome.

I want an M3, my astra is quicker than this so unfortunatly it`s gotta go.
Think its about 200Bhp

its an insult that this is slower, i`m very surprised omg
don`t get me wrong, it`s quick but not that quick.
Posted By: StuyMac Re: Ste: BMW E36 AC SCHNITZER S3 - 17th Jun 2010 2:46pm
They are a big heavy car Ste, though Im pretty sure the Torque will make it quicker top end - the 6 cylinder refinment and smoothness is also fantastic in the BMWs smile

Not much needed for the MOT - fix it, test it and it should make you a a few pennies grin

Got the bits from senars before so should be ready soon although the painters will be doing the odd bits to make it mint before it goes.
It`s really nice to drive though and sounds fantastic, i`m not too bothered about top end but i do like acceleration to be quick, i think these are limited to 140mph although i could be wrong. confused

Anyroad, it has a water leak somewhere (probs due to lying up for 12 months) but it only leaks when the engines running.

I`ll have a look later on today to see what it is yerrr laugh

Thought of that but been watching them on ebay, prices of the E30 m3 are unbeliveable but the E36 ones seem to be dropping.
Don`t mind if it`s high milage or needs work though.
Posted By: StuyMac Re: Ste: BMW E36 AC SCHNITZER S3 - 19th Jul 2010 8:29am
Im with Dave - be careful, you may get a 1/2 decent non Evo for £3k, but a decent Evo no

A lot of the M3 parts are not the same as the normal e36 All the suspension components, inc the arms and bushes are different, and you WILL pay a premium for anything M3 related!
Posted By: _Ste_ Re: Ste: BMW E36 AC SCHNITZER S3 - 19th Jul 2010 1:26pm
Thanks stu, i`ll bear that in mind before i buy, maybe get the vehicle inspected beforehand even, theres an evo on the now at £3k...
Although it looks a bit shady, i would still take a look.

M3 EVO HERE

Attached picture evo.jpg
Posted By: StuyMac Re: Ste: BMW E36 AC SCHNITZER S3 - 19th Jul 2010 2:17pm
There is no mention of the milage, and the 4 doors dont fetch as much as the coupes...

Chris BMW M3 is your man for these - may be worth dropping him a PM smile
Posted By: _Ste_ Re: Ste: BMW E36 AC SCHNITZER S3 - 19th Jul 2010 4:19pm
i may do that, the evo i drove was a 4 door, i think they look as nice so not to bothered if its 4 or 3 door but would prefer 3 door.
That 4 door was unbeliveable, don`t think i got to 4th gear when i had a quick go of it, thing had me pinned to the seat!
322bhp standard, can`t get much more for the money i don`t think?
these are nice to drive anyway, nice and tight.
gotta admit though i wouldn`t like driving it in the wet eek
Posted By: SteMars Re: Ste: BMW E36 AC SCHNITZER S3 - 19th Jul 2010 8:15pm
The 4 door is a stiffer shell (thats when they used it in the BTCC and ETCC) and I reckon looks more of a 'sleeper'....

No TC does make them a handful in anything but the dry, but the 321 bhp is probably why your buying it in the first place.... One of the best performance for £ I reckon you can get at the moment smile

Make sure that you pay £80 and fit a set of ARP rod bolts though to help keep the bottom end together....
Posted By: MrPhil Re: Ste: BMW E36 AC SCHNITZER S3 - 20th Jul 2010 4:18am
what about this...

http://passionford.com/forum/cars-for-sale/360086-1993-l-reg-bmw-m3-3-0l-coupe-3000-a.html
Posted By: StuyMac Re: Ste: BMW E36 AC SCHNITZER S3 - 20th Jul 2010 8:33am
The 3.0 is a non Evo....
Posted By: _Ste_ Re: Ste: BMW E36 AC SCHNITZER S3 - 20th Jul 2010 11:06am
Nice car but if i`m spending that amount of cash it has to be an evo even if i need to put a little more towards it smile

How much are those bolts to be fitted stemars?
Posted By: SteMars Re: Ste: BMW E36 AC SCHNITZER S3 - 20th Jul 2010 11:32am
About £80 for the ARP bolts mate, and the price of a sump gasket (about £25) and about 3 hours labour to fit (£45/hr?)

It might sound expensive, but the original bolts stretch at high RPM and then the bottom end shells can spin and ruin the rod/crank.... frown Basically then its cheaper to replace the motor.

When you do buy one, listen for a knocking as this is well known on these engines, and people have been known to sell them on before the inevitable happens... frown Also, dont confuse this knocking with a noisy Vanos (which is at the top / front of the engine)

Edit. If you did buy one from an enthusiast, it might already have had this done smile

HTH

Posted By: SteMars Re: Ste: BMW E36 AC SCHNITZER S3 - 20th Jul 2010 6:38pm
NP Ste, happy to help anyone with an E30 or E36 BMW smile I must admit I do like the look of yours with the ACS bits on it....

I race an e30 in the Production BMW Championship, but am very tempted to build an M3 trackday car or a 318is for the Khumo series.

I think that the E36 is at a point at the moment where the E30 was about 4-5 years ago, not worth a fortune and there is a lot of sh1te about.
Five years ago when they reached their lowest prices you could pick up an average E30 M3 for about £4k5, those cars are changing hands over £8k!

Im not convinced that E36 M3's will double in price in the next 5 years, but a tidy one thats looked after wont drop anymore £'s and will become more sought after I'm sure smile

I believe there is lots of hype about these failing, and even healthy ones can be quite noisy.

If the specified oil is changed regularly, and the vanos filters changed at the same time, then this maintenance will usually prevent a failure.....

Ok, I bought this as a runaround whilst my GSi was being done up, now that it's almost ready I'm after swapping this for another car.
Any interest?
The only thing I have had to do to this is put 2 new tires on the back which only cost £90, obviously it's been maintained in the oil/engine department monthly smile.
