JUst been watching GBNews and the issue of portable BBQ's on beaches was raised. In case people have not seen it, the problem arises when people have had a bbq, and as requested, they clear up after them and remove the bbq., but the sand it has been sitting on is boiling hot. There are no visible signs left, but it stay hot for a long time .
There have been a lot of cases of children getting severe burns and skin grafts on their feet.
My friends grand daughter aged 2yrs had the same horrific experience last summer. All the skin was ripped off the soles of her feet . Since she recovered, she will not even take one step on to the beach any longer, and screams in fear.

So, if WIrral Council could ban these things it could be a blessing for these children, and it is both the users of the bbq's and the parents of children who should be aware of the danger.

Stay safe.
