Watching 'This morning' earlier where the topic of leaving children in cars was discussed.
Just a warning, which I'm sure most of us are aware of, but the latter part of this is something new to my ears and maybe others too.

One lady telephoned in to explain her experience.

She had left her 7yr old son locked in her car for about
5/7 minutes on an occasion. She related that although she was reported to social services by a couple, and the department sent her a letter explaining that even tho' it isn't against the law, it is something which should be avoided.

The more worrying factor was; that when she asked her little boy what the lady and gentleman had done whilst he was in locked the car , he explained that they had been trying to get him to open the door and the window!

That is worrying, maybe another child would have done so.

I've done it myself in the past. You think "what's the harm for a couple of minutes" but don't consider all the "what if's" -

Such as leaving the child while you nipped into the shop then slipped on something on the floor and knocked yourself out and were taken to hospital.

if you can leave your young children asleep alone in an apartment and go down the street to a restaurant and when they do come to harm and you do not get charged for neglect--perhaps because of who you know- what message does that send

What about those that drive around with the stero on full blast with the little ones strapped in the back, a moron passed the other day and the sound was unbelievable sounded like someone banging on my car, pity the poor kids in the back, dont they think about the damage to the kids hearing?
