We had never heard of it either until 6months ago we were speaking to a proper HARDCORE vegetarian, who was disgusted that we still ate fish, she told us about the different classifactions.

Quote from vegblog:
"The two (well, four) most common types of vegetarians are:

Lacto-ovo vegetarians don’t eat beef, poultry, or fish, but do eat eggs and dairy products. (Similarly, lacto vegetarians consume dairy but not eggs while ovo vegetarians eat eggs but don’t consume dairy.)
Vegans consume no animal products or animal by-products. This means no beef, poultry, fish, eggs, or dairy (many vegans also avoid honey). Veganism also extends beyond the diet. Vegans avoid leather, wool, silk, down, etc. Some people use the term strict vegetarian for people who follow a vegan diet but still use animal products in other parts of their lives.
There are also some seriously restrictive subcategories of veganism:

Fruitarians eat raw fruit and seeds only.

Raw/living foodists eat at least 75% uncooked (items may be heated up to 110 degrees), unprocessed, organic fruits and vegetables, with the intention of preserving more vitamins and minerals. There are very few “pure” raw foodists though many people “eat raw” at least occasionally.
Then there’s the classifications of vegetarians that aren’t really vegetarians. Their inclusion here does not imply an acceptance of these often confusing, misleading terms, but rather to serve as a reference.

Pesco-vegetarians eat no beef or poultry but do eat fish.
Pollo-vegetarians eat no beef, but do eat poultry.
Semi-vegetarians or Flexitarians eat “less” meat (than who? Most people? Themselves, before? Ted Nugent?)"

What if are there any down sides?
For example, do you fart a lot?
Or headaches?
Strength?

Is there any term classification for people who don't eat red meat only?

I've been veggie for 25 years. Best thing I ever did. Anyone who eats any kind of flesh or fish is not a veggie.

I eat dairy stuff; bit of milk, yoghurt, cheese, and sometimes eggs.

Yes, you can get all the nutrition you need. I cycle 1500 to 2000 miles per year.

No you don't fart any more than normal or get headaches. Nor does it make you any more susceptible to catching colds. All of these things are myths.

I've been a vegetarian since 1996. I was a vegan, but it made me very ill (I consider veganism no living products at all - vegetarian eat cheese, dairy products).
I'd say I'm healhier in some areas and worse in others. The inside of your body feels great, but things like hair, nails and skin seem to suffer a bit.
I need to take vitamins, otherwise I get fairly weak. I also use the gym and weigh about 14 stone.

I thought fruitarians were just a joke invented for that film Notting Hill:

Keziah: No thanks, I'm a fruitarian.
Max: I didn't realize that.
William: And, ahm: what exactly is a fruitarian?
Keziah: We believe that fruits and vegetables have feeling so we think cooking is cruel. We only eat things that have actually fallen off a tree or bush - that are, in fact, dead already.
William: Right. Right. Interesting stuff. So, these carrots...
Keziah: Have been murdered, yes.
William: Murdered? Poor carrots. How beastly!
