So Sad, I actually sort of know the girl. My thoughts of with her family and friends at the horrible time.

A TEENAGER from Merseyside was killed and two people injured when a car hit a tree.

The 19-year-old passenger was pronounced dead at the scene on the A541 near Mold, North Wales.

Police have not yet named the woman, but last night confirmed her age, and said she was from the Wirral area.

The driver of the red Nissan Micra suffered a minor injury and she was taken to Wrexham Maelor Hospital with the male rear seat passenger, who also sustained minor injuries.

Emergency services were alerted to the incident at 9.55pm on Saturday and the road was shut for several hours.

A police spokeswoman said: “Three people were travelling in the car at the time.

“The driver of the car sustained minor injury and she was taken to Wrexham Maelor Hospital.

The rear seat passenger sustained minor injuries and he was also taken to Wrexham Maelor Hospital for treatment.”

Fire appliances from Mold and Denbigh were sent to the scene. A North Wales Fire Service spokeswoman said fire fighters used cutting gear to release two people from the wreckage of the car.

Police are appealing to anyone who was travelling on the road and who witnessed the collision to the Eastern Roads Policing Unit.

Anyone with information should call police on 0845 607 1002

Horrible thing to happen. Just hope the rumours that the driver is known to drive like an arse are not true.

She was good mates of my tennis partner, such a sad story.

Been in a similar situation myself!
