Government cash to help Wirral seaside resorts

THREE seaside resorts will get a cash boost to help improve their economies.

The government will give £200,000 so New Brighton, Hoylake and West Kirby can build on their heritage.

The money could be used to create new workspaces, support voluntary schemes helping people get back to work, develop skills training and improve standards of customer service.

Cllr Andrew Hodson, cabinet member for regeneration, said: “We will enlist the help of people who know their areas’ needs to make sure the right decisions are taken.”

Wirral council will discuss the funding this week.
