Claire House secures funding for new toys CLAIRE House children’s hospice can now be equipped with new sensory toys thanks to a £2,400 grant from The Lord’s Taverners.
The money was awarded under their scheme which aims to give children and young people with special needs a sporting chance.
Claire House provides specialist respite, palliative care and terminal care for children and young people in the area of Merseyside, Cheshire, parts of North Wales and the Isle of Man, with life-threatening or life limiting conditions.
Claire House fundraiser Maureen Ellison said: "We are so grateful to The Lord’s Taverners for providing this new equipment.
Most of our children cannot participate in sport and many suffer sensory impairment.
"Sensory toys are an important part of our play project and help us to provide the best quality of life which the children’s conditions will allow."
Lori Parker from The Lady Taverners said: "Hospices provide an invaluable service to the local community. It's good to know we can support such an excellent service."
