i am a little confused with this car it looks like a ford but to top that off its an L reg but the registration was 1999 not 1993-4 it also has a Q in validation charactor on the V5 ive had the rac look at it and nothing found its not been writed off so question

how old is the car ?

Private plate?probably not? the mazda 121 is the same as a ford fiesta mk4.Not sure what the validation bit means but i do no that "Q" is all about a car thats contains bits from many cars, ie/the chassis has been replaced. A lad at my work twisted the chassis of his astra in a small accident panel wise so he just got a chassis and put all his panels/gubbins into it.that was then a Q car

It may be a private plate as mentiond, you can only have a private plate that makes the car look older than it is not the other way around i.e A Sreg car could have A15 ABC but not X69 ABC.

As said if its a Q plate it has had parts off another car. There are ways around getting a Q plate, if your car has a certain % of original parts from each area of the car such as suspenion, engine etc then you can retain the Identity.

To me that indicates its got a privateplate, that and the fact that in 93/93 (Lreg) Ford hadnt created the Mk4, so Madza couldnt have bought the rights yet!

Sorry, just a quick hijack, but how come i haven't had to get a Q plate on the Samurai? Only things from the original vehicle are chassis frame, dashboard, and about 3/4 of the bodywork!

From what I know its only a new thing they have brought out, its so you could keep the original identity - Usualy when you get a new shell
