Hi all, went to Oulton Park yesterday to meet other guys doing a trackday. In the end I signed up and went on the track!
In out group were two Porsche 911, two Esprit V8, Motorsport Elise, racing Europa, Sierra Cosworth RS500 and mini cooperS.
Great day, a few near misses with other cars spinning off. Nearly had a nasty rear ender when a car, two in front spun in front of us. The next car in front, an MX5 screeched to a halt, then my turn, no problems. The car behind couldn't stop in time and locked up, heading towards my rear end. had to make a quick manouvre and put my foot back on the accelerator to turn out of the way. The other car screeched past me almost a car's length!!!!
Second run out, a Evo 8 was getting too excited and spun off into a barrier. it all sounds like a crash derby but it was the guy's fault. His group turned up at lunchtime and missed the briefing session and induction. Another Evo 8 in his group on the first run wouldn't pull to the right to let me overtake. I was clearly faster but he kept blocking me. He tried to go faster and faster but no luck. In the end, loads of smoke plumitting out of his exhaust and his car came to a grinding halt.
Another car as I was coming off the track caught fire!
An exciting day especially as I was only meant to drop off some brake fluid for the guys!!!

Sounds like fun dave sound like a lot of carnage too!!

Need to buy a trackcar so i can save my Esprit!
