This Peugeot city car, spotted before its official launch in Geneva next month, is the undisguised 107. The successor to the popular 106 has been brought up to date to meet modern safety criteria (thus the rather bulbous front overhang) and shows the now-familiar feline headlights and large badge, though the 407's striking 'Ferrari' grille gets omitted from the tiddler sadly. The car spied here, with its black plastic bumpers, looks like it could be an entry-level model. The 107 is to be built alongside the upcoming Citroen C1 and Toyota's tiny Aygo in a joint development at a factory in the Czech Republic; being derived from the current Citroen C2 underpinnings, the 107 should be roomier than the model it replaces. The engine range should comprise the usual PSA-built small-capacity city engines (1.1- and 1.3-litre petrols and a 1.3 diesel), and probably a 1.6-litre GTI version for boy racer types with up to 110bhp but probably no more to keep insurance prices to a minimum. The 107 will come in three-door hatchback form; those wanting a little more flexibility might opt for the 1007 mini-MPV, which arrives in March. The 107 won't go on sale until summer, however. The good news is that when it does, prices look set to undercut even the cheapest 106, at around £5000

I think the french have found some kind of wierd drug, almost all the cars they're spewing out at the moment look disasterous. It's like they're taking the worst features off past ugly cars and putting them on they're own, who else sees inspiration from the multipla and the current micra on that?
