hi all was just wonderin if anyone can help as per usual my escort's rear arches are becoming quite f**ked an i can't affort to get them replaced with all sorts of welding and respraying can anyone point me in the right direction for plastic arches like on the old mark 3's and 4's just can't seem to find them for my car. thanks in advance. bry

Do them yourself m8, its easy and cheap enough, you will need to rub the rust down with aluminium oxide paper use 60 or 40. Get body filler in the holes wait till it goes hard then use wet and dry to make it smooth. Use 120 - 240 then use 400 - 600 then use 800 - 1500 to finnish it off, will be smooth as glass when youve done that. then spray over the filler with primer when the primer is dry spray over that with paint matched to your car (colour code will be on the vin plate) finish off with a coat of laqure. Will cost 30 quid tops. I had loads left over after doing two rear arches.

You may as well get a welder and just put metal in. I'm guilty of using filler in the past, and it's good for little jobs, but it isn't really up to big stuff, it's not flexible enough when the body 'warps' (it cracks).
