If you fancy making a unique gift for a loved one this Christmas, the Williamson Art Gallery and Museum is hosting a number of workshops in November to help you on your way.

The first one takes place on Saturday 8th November and is being run by Pamela Sullivan, the museum’s Artist in Residence. This workshop offers people the opportunity to design and create a keep-sake box using decoupage techniques.

People can bring along their own design that they want to develop if they wish and no previous experience is necessary. The cost is £60 per person and that includes all materials.

The second workshop is ‘Wire Accessories’ on Saturday 15th November. Run by Alison Bailey Smith, this workshop offers an opportunity for people to experiment with wire. On this workshop participants will learn basic jewellery and textile methods with recycled wire and how to combine plastic, metal and fabric to great effect.

Again, no experience is needed and the cost is £60 person, including materials.

A week later, Tilly Wilkinson will host an ‘enamelling copper’ workshop where those who take part will learn how to combine liquid enamels, transparent enamels and the scraffito technique to produce some unique Christmas jewellery or tree decorations. The cost is £65 per person and there will be a small, additional charge for materials. No experience is needed.

All the workshops run from 10.30am-4pm and there are discounts for those who wish to attend more than one. People can book two workshops for £100 or all three for £150.
