When I saw this the other night, it looked pretty mean - have you changed the headlight rings?

Xenons make a huge difference, god knows why the rents didnt spec them on the 535, it has pretty much everything else.

Its on self levelling air suspension, so no chance of that wink

It was also a BMW option, so you just retro fit them wink

Set about removing the swirl flaps on the BM today. Its a common problem that the screws come loose which hold the flaps to the spindle, and the flaps then drop in to the engine omg

So, eventually, I got round to buying a set of blanking plates to remove the flaps!

Not sure how I felt after removing the flaps....... An inspction showed them to be fine, allbeit covered in black sludge, though it does not give me peace of mind for the future smile

Here are the flaps I removed...

It not that bad to do, I just found it time consuming (2-2.5hours, inc 30mins cleaing the EGR valve) as the scuttle panel has to be removed to get the inlet manifold off and I gave that a good clean around the drainage holes where quite a bit of muck had gathered!

No mate.

They are designed to speed up air flow at low rpm (they are closed) and then they open at higher boost / rpm.

Drove the car to work today - cant feel any difference in performance, though a small flat spot has now gone, but that may have just been that the EGR needed a clean... think

They sit under the manifold, so you cant see them when fitted frown

This is the article that shows where they are, problems they can cause, and where the blanks are fitted smile
