Going to have to come rnd again soon and see how this is in the flesh carnt belive how much you have done matey.

No offence to anybody else but i think your car is one of the best on the site.

THIS IS MY VIEW BECASUE OF THE WORK THATS BEEN PUT INTO THE CAR BY THE OWNERS FROM A SHELL.

Nextyear i think you could be up for car of the year.

PS get yourself down the bbq even if you have to get the car towed.

only put the passanger one of these on so far, but all it needed was abit of trimming, and some hole cut in it and then ta-da

[Linked Image]

spent most of the weekend fabricating some bracket for the front coilovers. compared to the pic above it has moved the shock away from the body. it has also lower the car a wee bit, but with the engine in it should sit properly at the front. all that is left to do now is cut off the corner that protrudes out so it won't hit!

right so far been doing small things getting it looking fab etc.

[Linked Image]

you may have noticed that in alot of the pics i only have 1 headlight, this is due to one accidently getting smashed! doh! so bought 2 new ones! also on the pic above you may be able to see the new chrome strip on the door. not really worth an update i know but i ani't got much else to say! took the wheels off to prevent them from getting damaged or corroding while the car isn't in use! also took off the grille for the same reason and too allow some access. have put new gaters and track rod end on the steering rack along with checking everything. the power plant is the next thing i will focus my attention on, and i'll start with a gearbox re-build............soon......ish

gearbox strip down part 1

right time to start on the gearbox. first i removed the diff. you will notice than it is a standard 2 pin diff, i will be throwing this away and going for the more stronger 4 pin diff, but i still need the ring gear off this one!

[Linked Image]

here is the box with the diff casing removed. and the above shot minus the laygears.

[Linked Image]

[Linked Image]

managed to remove the laygears and shaft. from the top down you have the laygears, roller bearings they run on, the shaft, the thrust washers which go either side, reverse gear and the shaft it sits on.

[Linked Image]

the layshaft has abnormal wear on it due to it being installe dincorrectly but i will be replacing that anyway, as it comes in the refurb kit.
