Thanks! Agree with the Astra GTE thing, nicer looking, more agressive, but a bit ugly inside. Putting the Calibra heated leather seats in. I need to weld a new bracket in the back to fit the rear bench in, and the leather trimmed door cards, which will need a whole day to cut and fit right. Also put camp sunvisors with big mirrors and lights from an Omega in. With a centre interior light with separate swivelling map reading beams (like the ones on national express buses) in the centre, again, from an Omega. Also four grab handles with courtesy lights fitted from an Astra GLS. Need a bit of cutting as they only came from a five door Astra. Definately not keeping it standard on the inside!! Just comfy.

Hey car looks nice, fan of astras. just looking at your interior light, it's the same as my Esprit S4s interior light. Most of my switchgear is straight out of a Calibra. Iam thinking of getting LED bulbs in all my interior lights including the front and rear luggage areas. These light up brighter and more crisp plus less drain on my battery.

Good idea on the LEDs, though the bulb in mine is way too bright! Calibra's are Cavaliers, so if anything breaks, it'll cost pennys. Vauxhall Luton plant is down the road from the Lotus plant.

Yeah, they're from either a Calibra Turbo or V6. Cali has the same subframes was a matter of undoing four bolts on each 'frame and bolting the new ones in. And as if that wasn't easy, the Astra comes with the necessary wire and plug needed to connect to the plug in the seat for the heat under the carpet. Plug in and go! Where did you get your interior from (what car)? I did the two fronts last night, this morning, did the rears, and rear quarter panels, sort of a dry run, I'll cut and fit the panels tommorow morn. Before (seats are v. comfy anyway, made by Recaro): After: As you can see, the panel juts out, but just needs a few snips to fit it in.!

Here's next week's job, putting the front door cards on (looks like it's going to be a bit tricky). All the stuff is real leather, there's a really nice smell when you get in the car.

That rear panel cut, rivetted and glued into shape. Push clips need to be glued into position and it should fit snuggly into place!!

Thanx mate! They're out of a Calibra Turbo. Seats go straight in, rear seats need a bit of work, door cards need to be seriously shaped to get them in right, but with a couple of hours, I got one side in. Your car's got four doors though, the Cali has two, and the fronts are shorter! You could make them fit though.

Interior is now full leather! I've spent two weeks every night tackling this, and now it's complete (apart from a few tidy up jobs)! Getting the roof lining trimmed in black pleated leather. There are also two speakers (2 large, 2 tweeters) in each of the door cards/panels, so need to wire them up through two seperate amps (14 speakers in total: 2 on the shelf, two next to the shelf, four in the rear door cards, four in the door cards, two tweeters in the mirror panels, plus 2 bass speakers under the seats.) I'm not too clever on the old amp/stero stuff though. I'm getting new uprated cams, pulleys and the flywheel lightened after xmas.
