Merseyside Police can confirm a 25-year-old woman was arrested last night (Friday, 3 July) in connection with a serious RTC in Birkenhead that has left a motorcyclist in a critical condition.
At about 8.30pm emergency services were called to a report of a collision involving a motorcycle and a Nissan Micra on the Borough Road flyover, at the approach to the Birkenhead tunnel.
The motorcyclist, who is 42, was taken to hospital suffering from multiple injuries. He has undergone surgery and remains in a critical condition at this time.
The 25-year-old driver of the Nissan was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing serious injury through dangerous driving. She remains in custody at the present time.
Road traffic collision investigators are continuing with their investigation into the incident.
They are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the collision.
