Just to balance this debate...

Years gone buy there wasnt that much to learn except proove you can manovure a car safely at all times, "I passed in less than 10" (not me).

But now in 2004 there is so much more for a driver to learn and show on a test and there is more possibilities to fail now also. I could go on listing stuff but its basically harder nowerdays.

With Good car control established then yeh 10 may be enough but a average amount of lessons is 25 + for most people from start to finish.

Most people who passed there test +5 or +10 years ago would surley fail a modern test, FACT !

Hope this helps...

So if your + 20 Lessons your still better than average smile

i did my test in early 90's when it was well easy i booked 2 weeks of lessons totaling 20 hours ( two lessons were 4 hours long). sat my test at the end of the two weeks and passed first time. no way i'd pass now though yet i can pull a trailer or caravan and newer drivers who have a much harder time can't <img border="0" alt="[cwnuts]" title="" src="graemlins/cwemotions051.gif" />

I took a 10 b4 my first test failed then another 2 b4 my nxt test and failed then i got a cancelation and went with a different instructor. Upgaded from a micra to a corsa. Ihad a two hour lesson with him then took the test in upton and passed. (i think the examinors in wallesey are better as i my first 2 tests wer in upton i think if i continued taking tests in upton id still not av a licence today.
