Why does the Muslim community take offence at suggestions that may help better understanding between cultures and communities? I am no fan of Cameron but to be offended by his letter only strengthens peoples beliefs that they do not want to fully intergrate,why does the Jewish community feel threatened here? to my knowledge there have been no specific threats made against their community in GB, we had the bombings here and terrorist action yet there was no huge day of national mourning nor cries of revenge or outbursts of jingoism, yet the police have been given orders to give extra security to certain parts of the community because of what happened in France, are we not all deserving of protection against terrorism? these distinctions only serve to divide the community more and more,are we allowed to voice our opinion? if for instance I say I dont like my neighbour because he / she is noisey and obnoxious thats alright, but if I say I dont like my neighbour because he / she is noisey and obnoxious but he / she belongs to a different culture or religion that changes the whole senario, I can then be accused of a number of things that have no bearing on me not liking my neighbour, because he / she perceives it as something else ie: they automatically see themselves as victims of something that was not intended.

Tonight on North west News ,article of Manchester Jewish and Muslim leaders got together and spoke in a very reasonable manner with common sense. This is, until the Jewish leader had the Muslim leader agree it's all down to xenophobia. Now my understanding of xenophobia is a prejudice against people from other countries. So does that mean it's now the indigenous Brits who are responsible ?
Too much pandering going on in my opinion, and quite often results in digging a bigger hole to fall into.
I can't be bothered with it all anymore, we have no part or chance to comment in this life, we'll just keep on supporting the world charities and supplying the food banks with goodies for the starving in our supposedly richest country, whilst the operation NSNO extended until end of March 2015 helps the homeless. It was rolled out in 2011 is mainly directed at the Romanians and ethnic groups sleeping rough on the streets of London. Not nice to look at is it when the Olympic Games are about to happen? That's where it started, we got the tail end of it up here. Maybe this is why some feel victimised and worthless in this land of the free. We, as a culture continue to give, care, support, supply, help but in the end, we have no voice to be heard as we are drowned by others.
Our buttons will one day be pushed too hard.

considered that just maybe, Israel is hoping for a reason that Nationals will return. Hence the support announced this weekend.
Could repatriation be manipulated also ? If that happened, then all the money from the so called 'richest' country, could fly out across the oceans and seas ! Therefore our politicians aim is to keep them here, thus pandering to the cause,and at the expense of the nationals of UK.

To be honest, I don't think any of our politicians and senior civil servants know what to do about the burgeoning growth of Muslim communities. They are powerless to stop it, hands tied by their fear of being called racist. Anybody who does try to debate it is immediately attacked by people who seem to be hell bent on destroying this far too generous country of ours.
We had years of trouble from the IRA, but I have a feeling that those times will pass into history as being of little consequence compared to what may lie ahead for future generations.

Eventually the ethnic minority will surely become the ethnic majority in the UK. it just grieves me to watch our country lose its identity in the space of a few generations.

No not really,a bomb or a bullet is indiscriminate, it will kill you no matter of your religion colour or creed, perhaps the ones most likely to be targeted are the police and the military both on and off duty

I have read the letter and the reply,and find it hard to criticise the contents of either. My own thoughts are that the letter should of been tweaked to address the nation as a whole and nobody in particular.I do think we are being asked to give a disproportional amount of our culture up, to accommodate a multitude other cultures.Having no faith and shared a room with an Arab on more than one occasion, I have no axe to grind. I would fight for the right to have no religion, so nobody, it seems is exempt from this phase of human kinds development.

People become uneasy when they perceive a threat to their well being, the constant media focus on Muslims, jihad and terrorism etc and the less moderate within this group, mainly sticking two fingers up to any criticismn of their behaviour only add to the populations mistrust of their religion and culture, their leaders have been late in condeming radicalisation probably for fear of being unpopular, and of course our own politically correct numptys who also fuel peoples fears by pandering to stupid rules at schools, halal meat no pork etc etc,and giving preference to other cultures,this makes people uneasy and mistrustful.

Besides, you mention our country's 'identity' please elaborate on that, could you define our identity for the rest of us?
