Would having someone build a desktop pc (monitor, keyboard, mouse not needed also I have genuine windows7 discs)be cheaper than buying a new one with same/similar specs from a computer shop or business or online.

Also bear in mind you may have problems with Windows as it is invariably a single use licence.

Derek you can buy them on line with out an operating system. Personally i would buy off the shelf as your going to pay for someone's time at the end of the day. No operating system £150 Click me They come under Bare Bone Systems, but some come with Operating Systems too. The one in the link has a hard drive but they can come with out so be aware. Hope that helps. Zoostorm machines are made in Warrington if i remember correctly. This one has the USB 3 connections you were needing a while back. Its more of eveything not just the USB 3 connections but £250 no operating system. Source : Click Me

Hi Derekdwc, looks like an intresting hobby. Most modern mid-range ready bought pc's would most probably be able to cope with what you appear to be doing. I would probably recommend possibly doubling up on any ram installed as default and if you intend to store the images on your pc then think about either getting one with a large hard drive or have a second one installed just for storing the images. If vanmamone, or anyone else, builds a pc for you then they would no doubt install descent spec memory items for you. Like i mentioned earlier, you may have to factor in another copy of Windows if you intend using the internet as 'home' versions of windows are usually single use affairs.
