I think this is the furthest inland built lighthouse in Britain
being more than two miles from the sea. click

Would be nice if they still had the flags and flagpoles that you used to be able to see long ago (too many trees blocking the view now)

It's an interesting fact that Trinity House looks after navigational aids ashore.There is one such between Fenny Compton and Southam in Warwickshire.It looks incredibly like the Eifel Tower,and is visible for miles around.It used to be part of the Decca Navigation system,couldn't get much farther from the sea.
One of it's brothers is in Wallasey.

Great pics - interesting place! Must have looked amazing with the flags flying. Pity there couldn't be some sort of re-enactment of that, but as someone said, the trees are too well grown now.
