You have called me a "little boy with a noisy toy", as a competitor this year I would suggest that is verging on a personal insult, so naturally I'll defend my hobby.

You also made your point in the first post, but keep on at it. At no point have I suggested you are not untitled to an opinion, but it's the same one you keep trolling the thread with.

The unfortunate incident mentioned couldn't be proven either way, but I think it harsh to link it to the rally. Your opinion has been noted smile

If you like it then good for you, I don't and I am saying so and fully entitled to do so without being classed as misinformed and negative. Could call you names but don,t need to, to make my point.

The incident mentioned also occurred over 2 months AFTER the rally took place. Tragic that a small minority of Britain's motorists drive dangerously and out of their depth. But how DO YOU KNOW that it was directly responsible for their misjudged course of actions? If I remember correctly also, the driver of the vehicle had been found to be Over the Drink Drive limit, and "that Richard was undergoing treatment for psychiatric problems and was known to be a user of amphetamines, cocaine and cannabis." All of which were found in his body at the time of the crash.

"It's a fast stretch of road because of the way it was designed" so yes, it may inspire young drivers to drive quickly, but its because of the layout that the rally takes place there, not the other way round. Blame the Council instead maybe? Or the Driving instructors for not instilling the importance of driving safely from the beginning? Or maybe the family members of those themselves? How about the schools he went to for not driving home the dangers of substance abuse? Or maybe, just maybe, blame the young lads themselves who tragically took their own lives in a drug and alcohol fuelled drive.

Also, as noted by Stuymac, your posts are indeed verging on Personal Insults. Insults which you have posted more than once. "Little Boys with their Loud Toys" suggests to me you feel you are of greater importance, more educated and therefore have more right to use the Promenade than these competitors. Superiority Complex maybe? But yes, it is down to personal opinion. And thankfully one that you share with an utterly useless and impossibly small minority!

I would LOVE to get you in my car smirk
You wouldn't talk for a week after laugh

Lighten up a bit, go down and view the rally, you never know, you may enjoy it wink

Oh, and those 2 brothers that died in that car were proven to be on drug and drink whilst driving.
Not only that but they were driving a pug 206, gotta be one of the crappiest handling cars ever, deathtraps they are.

What narrow minds you all have. Anybody who does not like your rallying is an utterly useless and impossibly small minority! Now who is using Personal Insults.

Superiority Complex, hardly, just a total dislike of rallying and all that goes with it.

Obviously you cannot understand people not liking your beloved sport well there are a lot of people in Wallasey and New Brighton who, like me dislike it.

By the way I enjoy the Hoylake Lifeboat Open Day immensely and go every year, its much more peaceful and pleasant. No barking of exhausts and shrieking of tyres and the stink of petrol, that's my choice and I am entitled to it as well as my opinion.

You live in Hoylake (as I read it in the Open Golf thread), so how does the noise effect, smell, etc effect you? You also used the term "little boys", an unnecessary term which could only cause friction.

You also mentioned you where there, in New Brighton, on the evening of the incident mentioned about. Looking at your comments I don't believe you have the right attitude and aptitude to be one of the attending emergency services, so I'd be interested to know in what capacity you where there in, spectator? Rubber necker? I'm sure if you had realities there you would have also mentioned that previously as a far more valid point to back up your points, which quite frankly don't immediately effect you.

I also enjoy the hoylake lifeboat event, but does the air display also not make noise? Do the crowds not make a mess and litter the beach, and I'd hate to see you change your mind if someone parks on the pavements whistle

The only good thing to come from your comments is that you have kept the thread up in the active topics list, happy trolling, I'm sure this isn't the end of it, as Internet trolls can't help themselves whistle

Ah I see, just because I don't like Rallying and all that goes with it then I am a Troll, that is the most inane comment I have seen on this site, mind you, you like rallying so why should I be surprised.

There are people in this world that don't like rallying which you seem blind to, I think you need to get out more and get a bit of experience of life, enjoy the rest of the day.

Lol, I think you need to look up what trolling means.

You are totally entitled to an opinion, which you gave, and then proceeded to troll. You have also debated something you have no interest in, with comments which you must know would stir responses, and continue to do so.

Now please run along and find something to talk about that you do have an interest in, something which you can provide constructive and positive input to.

I only just noticed this. "Cost is £5 per car, £3 per person on foot". £3 to stand on a PUBLIC HIGHWAY, now that is taking the Pi$$.

I think as the closure is paid for, it's classed as renting it from the council which may be to do with the insurance and that public highway rules don't apply to allow the rally to happen frown

The entry fees help to pay for the closure, 50% of which go to a local charity.

The argument is that I do not like rallying and my interpretation is ' little boys with noisy toys ' - you don't like that because you are a for it so you discredit my dislike of rallying by calling me a troll.

How sad, why don't you accept that not everyone likes or wants rallying on New Brighton Promenade and it is not the be all and end all of events. It will go ahead like it always does, but that does not mean that it is wanted by everyone, it just means that money has been paid to WBC for road closures and the event has been sanctioned by them.

Everyone has the right to state their feelings over events, happenings etc and I have done just that. I pay my council tax and as such, have a right to comment on what goes on. The fact that you have dismissed peoples feelings or should I say right to object, shows just how much you are out of touch with life and democracy. You want what you want and and say how dare I object to your event going ahead. Well I do object, even though I have no chance of stopping it, I have the moral right to object to it.

Grow up and admit that not everyone likes what you like and give them the right to say so, which they have, without demeaning them and calling them trolls,as a coverall for anyone's objections.

Slightly replying to Stuymacs post.
I don't mind them racing away, I would love to go see them but no way would I pay to see them drive on a public highway. Also what is this noise testing crap??. Oh, and if you like commenting on something in a negative way it don't make you a troll, just voicing your opinion. Check posts, some entice a reaction. I don't have a heart, so cant be offended ,nor upset.

"In Internet slang, a troll is a person who sows discord on the Internet by starting arguments or upsetting people,[1] by posting inflammatory,[2] extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community (such as a newsgroup, forum, chat room, or blog) with the deliberate intent of provoking readers into an emotional response[3] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.[4]"

After the first post that just about sums it up....

Does this come under
"extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community (such as a newsgroup, forum, chat room, or blog) with the deliberate intent of provoking readers into an emotional response"
