My granddaughter dish a dish arial to receive Freesat TV programs. She recently changed her broadband and phone supplier to Talk Talk and they have given her a You view box through which she is supposed to be able to receive catch up TV etc. I connected the box to her dish but the box failed to detect any channels. Does anyone know if this means that the box is incompatible with the channels received by the dish and that she will have to buy a Freeview arial or is there an easy (cheap) fix for this problem. Thanks in advance for any helpful info.

Think the only answer is to install TV aerial you view box won't work with a satellite dish. My daughter had to pay £70 to have aerial fitted when she changed to talk talk.

Just to confirm, yes you need an aerial not a dish. Video from Bt, but same type of set up

Thanks to Mark for moving my question to the proper forum and also to dogoodeeds and i demo for their answers to my query. Not really what I wanted to hear but confirming what I thought, ie that these two bits of kit are not compatible and a new aerial is called for. Zipperclubs video confirms this i demo recommends giving Lando a pm as he seems to be the aerial specialist on this site but I hardly think it worth the bother now. Thanks again for the interest.

Hiya! I'm a bit knowledgeable in the area, see my home install satellite pic below! Lol.

All aerials these days are digital "ready" the question is where do you live. My house is quite low so I need an aerial on the roof. If you live high up you can try an indoor or a loft aerial, both can be fitted really easily with no special equipment.
Hope this helps.
