====================================

After leaving at 12:30 we arrived at the NEC at 2pm ready for a wander round the show then to watch the live action show at 6pm
Due to me working nights the night before and only having 2 hours sleep i was tired so if some of the pictures are blurry blame me

The show was spread over 11 halls of the NEC with areas set aside for different aspects of motorsport. The areas included F1 Racing Car Gallery, EVO Track and Road Car Gallery, National Motorsport, Group C Feature, Live Action Arena, Autsport Area, WRC Feature and much much more.
I dont really know where to start so ill go in the order of the pics on the camera.

Graham Goode Racing's GGR 500 Subaru Impreza, This is the latest development from Graham Goode a well known Subaru specialist who will convert your standard WRX or STi to a road eating 500 bhp model. Of course a price comes with this, £22,000 for the conversion, ouch

Of course this wasnt everything but i hope you enjoy the pictures and the report.
Would like to also say a big congratulations to the winner of a very special item in the auction. Jenson Button's race worn crash helmet from last years Canadian Grand Prix and a day out at the tyre testing at Silverstone and a day with Jenson himself. This was £5000 well spent and all proceeds have gone to the Tsunami Appeal.

Well thats it, well done to everyone who organised the show and ill be back next year laugh

I have the pics of the chicks lol

Birmingham Autosport 2005 - Sunday

I'm writing this after getting back and i'm knackard to say the least.
It was an amazing day, so much to see and do in the 9hrs we stayed.

Setting off at 6:30am from the meeting point, straight down M53, M56 and M6.
Pulling into the services for breakfast to start the day fed and watered.
Some sexy chick loving scooby's, scooby at the services, and she had a nice motor too.

Directions.
M6 J4a onto M42 south.

Arriving at N.E.C. 9am
No problems parking or getting there minimum traffic.
Inside the N.E.C. It was split up into the following area's,
which had to have been half a mile in length.
My poor legs can vouch for that, I’ve shrunk lol.

Halls
4 Performance driving experience.
5 Live auction area
6 Career's of Motorsport / After market show.
7 Ford Arena
8 Sport performance. / Autosport Stage.
9 F1 Racing gallery / Evo Road Gallery.
10 National motorsport.
11 100 years of motorsport / Cheffins Auction.
18 Oval Racing & Track.
20 WRC / Auto sport engineering.

Into the main buillding. WOW
Where to begin it was awesome, cars, lights and loads of sexy models
Off we went to collect our AAA passes.
All Area's Access.
Receiving a nice pres looking pass card to where around your neck.

And the journey begins, as we walked from the classic / History section.
The day before they had an Auction and we seen a Mk1 Ford escort which didn't sell?
It was £ 4,000 below its reserve which was £44,000 yeh!
It bid up to £40,000 due to its history?
It begun life as a tin of beans loll,
Only kidding Ford lovers.

Anyways moving on, more to gasp at, at every turn.
And how sexy were those georgous models were,
except the one who had only half an hours notice lol.

It wasn’t long before we made our way to the live arena,
3hrs had passed allready in a flash.

Into the arean,
And we were enetrtained by cars through the ages.
From the earlist models of lambogini to the 2004 lambergini.
And you wouldn't believe it unless I told you, but a lambergini Tractor!
Talk about king of the crop lol.
And it did look stylish as far as you can take a tractor.

The pink babes, came from no where and selected a lady and gental man from the audience,
only scooby's b*tch was pick to take a ride in a WRC n' class rally car as co-pilot.
She loved it as we all sat laughing,
hoping she wouldn't say anything to embarressing at the end of her white knucle ride lol..
(she didnt).

Then more cars, vans and 3 wheeler robin reliants.
Don’t laugh they were doing donuts,
wheelies and driving very fast in reverse.
Quads jumping over cars, had to see it to be impressed.
There was so much more but we can save that for the dvd.

After the show back to the main halls and checking out the trade stands,
wheeling and dealing lol.
There were so many money cannot buy you this cars.
Your going to have to check out the gallery to understand what I mean.

In a nut shelll it was a fantastic day out and so glad I went.
Just trying to convince my legs to move lol.

p.s. Will work on a the gallery in the morning, so tired.

Great pics John, i will include them in the gallery.
God only knows How many we have lol.

Just got back from autosport and im so tired I can hardly type this review.

What an amazing day it has been today, very early start waking up at 5 am this morning but id deffinatly say it was worth it. A day to remember.

We left the meeting point at 6:30 this morning while it was still dark lol. I didn’t think there were two half 5s in one day.

We stopped for our full breakfast half way through the journey to Birmingham. Feeling all full up we were on our way once again. It didn’t take us long to get to the NEC, the way Scooby drives it doesn’t take you long to get anywhere lol.

When I stepped inside the NEC I couldn’t believe how big the place was. There were so many different stands, show cars and trade stalls everywhere I looked. It was amazing to see so much going on all inside one building. I didn’t think we could possibly see everything all in one day.

We spent the morning checking out all the stands and stalls, not to mention drooling over all the show cars.

[Linked Image]

There were so many gorgeous cars I just didn’t know where to start.

I spent ages drooling over the rally cars daydreaming that maybe one day I might just own one lol. It gave me a few ideas for mods for my iccle astra just wait and see.

Today was such an action filled day that I just can’t remember everything that we did. It’s just too much to write about.

The morning flew by so fast. Doesn’t time fly when you’re having fun eh! 12 o clock came in no time. It was time for us to get to the main arena for the live action show.

We had the AAA pass which gave us VIP seats and a fast track entry to the main arena.

I couldn’t believe it when I found out it was Jodie Kidd who was presenting the show. She came racing onto the main stage in her very own Lamborghini. Girl power!! The pit girls came into the audience and chose a lady and gentleman to take part in one of the performances. I didn’t believe it when they chose me. I was all dressed in pink and stood out from the crowd. I was waving that mad saying pick me, Pick me, Scooby was laughing at me saying stand on your seat love. When they chose me I had to look behind me to make sure there was no1 else dressed in pink with fluffy boots on lol. I had to go up on the main stage where I met Jodie Kidd; I was star struck and nearly couldn’t speak. Jodie did a quick interview with me and then me and the other guy who had been chosen were driven off in a black jeep to get ready for what was ahead.

The lovely people back stage helped me into some rally gear and strapped me into an awesome 200BHP MG ZR rally car. I was the co driver for MG rally star Matt Stephens. My heart was pounding as I really didn’t know what to expect. Matt was very nice and explained that we were going to drive around the arena as fast as the car would go, doing high speed slides, left foot braking and handbrake turns I was so excited.

[Linked Image]

We were off, the car was amazingly fast and it just seemed to glide around the corners like it was on ice. It was so amazing it is hard to explain how it felt. Such an experience to remember forever. Guess who wants to be a rally driver for the women’s team!!!! Matt laughed when I told him I want a pink rally car sponsored by Cruisewirral lol.

After all that excitement I went back to watch the rest of the show and just couldn’t believe how many amazing cars were there. I could have happily sat there and watched them all day.

[Linked Image]

After the show we had a bite to eat and carried on checking out the stands and cars on show. I even bought Scooby an early birthday present. I will let Scooby tell you all what his new toy is.

I got my picture taken with Jackie Degg too. I was quite surprised at how tiny she is in real life. She looks really tall in her pictures.

I was a bit disappointed that I didn’t have time to queue up and get a picture with Michelle marsh and Lucy Pinder because I would have really liked to meet them.

So much to do and so much to see. It was soon time to head home.

My legs were about ready to fall off by the time I got back to the car. I don’t think they could have taken much more walking lol. At least I could sit down. Our journey home was very entertaining with Scooby and his new little toy. We were home in no time.

It was an excellent day out and im defiantly going again next year, you never know I might have my pink rally car by then lol.

i will post some pictures when im not as tired as im eyelids need matchsticks at the moment to keep them open.

Id just like to say a massive thank you to my darling Scooby for doing all the driving as I know he was very tired. Also thanks to our photographer webby and thanks to maverick for taking pictures for the gallery too. It was an amazing day out and thanks for coming, it wouldn’t have been the same without you guys.
