Hi,

It might sound like a daft question but here goes…

I have just had my 60" led tv wall mounted and I am about to install some tv shelves which require drilling into the same wall which the led tv was mounted, its simply going to be underneath the tv, am I ok to drill the wall?, I am worried all the vibrations from below may make the tv loose and fall off lol

Yes I am a women and it might sound silly but no harm checking.

thanks in advance

Possibly take the tv down first, do drilling and shelves, then put the tv back.
Make sure that the wall is a brick wall or you'll need special screws and fixings.

Tips from a cack - handed useless DIYer
sorry

It shouldn't be up there in the first place if drilling a few holes is likely to bring it off. If your worried, buy a good quality masonry bit and drill the wall without using hammer action or percussion of any description. A good masonry bit will fly in to brick with no problems at all.

God help us,
Come yourself,
Don't send Jesus,
This is no place for children.

No I'm not saying its up shoddy or anything, I paid a professional company which was pretty expensive, I am just being over cautious as tv is very dear and would hate it to come off lol

Before you drill make sure there are no, gas, water pipes or electric service cables in the wall for lights or sockets, more likely if you have solid floors, telly should be ok in situ, as bert said if drilling a few holes loosens it then it shouldn't be up there, good luck

You can also Multitask

1 Hand Drilling
1 Hand Holding up the TV
1 Foot holding the dust bag.
1 Foot Stopping the door from blowing shut.

Tip
Practice with the drill on a part of the wall no one will see.
As a guide to how deep, measure up the rawl plug against the drill and go a tiny bit further.

You should be fine smile

hi
not relating to the tv but a great trick when you drill the actual holes - use a small cardboard box or piece of bent card (the bottom of a cereal packet is ideal and tape it to the wall using masking tape just below the hole you are drilling and all the dust will drop into the box rather than all over your floor. much easier as often brick dust is very fine and difficult to hoover up.
