Evening all

I've been looking at money off vouchers and gift cards on ebay. I'm looking to spend a considerable amount at a jewelers at xmas and there are some money off vouchers and gift cards on ebay and I'm wondering how it actually works. Some of them are on sale for up to £1000 giving a few hundred pounds off. But what if I pay that much get to the shop or pay online and find that they don't work. Its a lot of money to pay out on a dud. Would I get my money back? how do I prove it?

Any advice would be great

Many thanks

Perhaps if you tell the manager of the shop (where you're planning on buying the jewelery), just how much you'll likely spend, they may be able to work out a generous discount for you ?

It doesn't hurt to ask I suppose.

I Dont trust Vouchers any more.
The shops that have gone bust and the first things that are not honoured are vouchers or gift cards.

Not been caught out but would be livid if i was a victim.

Haggle a deal you will surprise your self.

I got a voucher through the post from Beaverbrooks the other day for £50 off when you spend £200 or more. I think I got it because I got some jewellery repaired there earlier this year. Anyway, I'm not going to use it so if you'd like it send me a PM and it's yours smile

For 60p postage it will just be sent First Class

The bidder will pay by PayPal

He will then claim that it's not been received

PayPal will place the sellers funds on hold

The seller can't prove it was received

Bidder gets voucher plus money back.

Bidder uses voucher online

Bidder resells voucher under another ID

Sends it by recorded delivery so can prove it was received.

New bidder has useless piece of paper

Easy money.

Re Dr: Here am I thinking they are bonkers I suppose £10 is too small an amount for the police to get involved.

Thanks for all the comments and the offers of vouchers.

Actually seems like it could be a good idea for a sticky. yes

We could offer to give our unwanted vouchers to someone who can use them.

No money need trade hands just us helping each other out smile

Oh and its Ernest Jones vouchers I need wink
