Hello all,
I have towbar fitted to my auto, but have no need for it and I wondered if any of you can point me in the direction of a local firm who would remove it? Like all towbars it's connected up to the complicated wiring system so it has to be done professionally. Cheers!

Any garage will do it....

The wires will be spliced and will be very easy to remove.

Depending on the fitment you may need to refit an original rear support bar though. My last 3 BMWs, that Ive fitted a tow bar to, require you to remove the standard rear support and replace it with one fitted with the tow ball bracket. If I remove the tow bar now, Id have to get the standard part to replace it.

On some cars the tow bar can just be an addition, so removal is easy, on others you need to replace parts to get back to standard.

Thanks for those replies. Coincidentally it's my 5 series bmw that I intend to have the tow bar removed from. I shall also need the bumper repairing as when it was fitted a rectangular shaped portion of the plastic bumper was cut in order to accommodate it. I know that that can be removed and made to look good again. It's just finding somebody who specialises in removing them, and by the sounds of it that place in New Ferry sounds just the place. I once took a tow bar stabiliser to them for servicing, so I shall give them a ring. They were very reasonable with their prices too. Thanks once again for your replies.
