Huge police presence, helicopter, many cars, ambulances etc. Not going out to look don't want to get caught up in anything. Duke St, Cavendish Street etc.

1 x male detained on the floor at the end of Lloyd Avenue /PRN.

Just seen this, dozens of police where jumping a fence down to the railway tracks, big square cordoned off from Birkenhead Park. Looks serious, time willtell whats happened

I was stranded at the a trainstation because of that idiot trespassing on the tracks near birkenhead park station. Trains stood still at all stops and didn't resume for about an hour. No idea why he decided to trespass

As mentioned, was a trespasser on the track who then 'absconded' from a police vehicle and caused a major man hunt. They always pick the best times of the day to do it.

Update:
Investigation ordered into how suspected shop-lifter managed to escape from police car.
A MAN escaped from a police car after he was arrested for allegedly shoplifting in Birkenhead today.
The incident happened at around 2.20pm in Corporation Road when the 23-year-old from Liverpool was being taken by officers to a police station having been arrested on suspicion of theft in the town center.
However he managed to escape from the car and was re-arrested shortly and taken into custody where he will be questioned.
An investigation is ongoing into how the man escaped.
