New TV Samsung LT22A350

I can not for the life of me get it to find BBC1, I have done Factory reset, and the option it gives me for language settings is Denmark, Sweeden.

I get all welsh channels, I have tried the usual unplugging aerial for 1st 10% of auto tune, but it will not find BBC1, I have tried it with and with out the new AT800 filter.

Any ideas.

I have downloaded latest firmware, and installed it, but it will still not find BBC1.

Is it the same telly you bought on ebay for £30? (I saw your other posting about it)
Maybe the reason it was cheap is because it doesnt receive BBC1?

Maybe it's a good thing, if your TV is incapable of receiving BBC you don't have to pay a licence for it.

Result !!!!

It is yes, but I can't see how a tv can just stop receiving BBC1 but yet receive all other channels.

Try and check if there are any other channels missing by comparing the listings with your other TV.

You may be homing in on BBC1 when there are other drop outs too.

If that's so then it could be a country code setting ?

There are loads of channels missing, now i have took a closer look.
I have sent email to Samsung to ask how to do factory reset.

I will take tv to mates house and try to do channel search on his aerial.

There is no option on this tv for factory reset, and the only options it gives me is for Denmark and Sweeden language.

Not true if you have a tv you need a licence. Even if you dont have an aerial. Also the use of devices such as a computer, laptop, mobile phone or DVD/video recorder you need a licence.

Not true.

Not true
You do not need a tv licence if you watch all your programms on
bbc iplayer itv player etc etc.

A reminder of the law
The law states that you need to be covered by a TV Licence if you watch or record television programmes, on any device, as they're being shown on TV. This includes TVs, computers, mobile phones, games consoles, digital boxes and Blu-ray/DVD/VHS recorders.
You don't need a licence if you don't use any of these devices to watch or record television programmes as they're being shown on TV - for example, if you use your TV only to watch DVDs or play video games, or you only watch ‘catch up’ services like BBC iPlayer or 4oD.

I know this, as i informed them i do not watch tv live, i only watch online on iplayer etc etc.

They came to my house to check out of the blue one day, i let them in and the first thing they saw was my tv, they told me i need a licence, I said no i dont, as i only watch progrrames online, i showed them my tv was not connected to aerial socket and only connected to my pc.

They asked me to inform them if i start watching tv again.

I said of of course i will.

To notify them you no longer need a licence and to get refund.

Yes you can watch iplayer without a licence, but all is not as straight forward as some think. Interesting read for anyone wanting the information wink
