Volunteer groups to hold Library fair
A Wirral Council library is to host a fair for residents interested in becoming volunteers with a range of local groups.
Birkenhead Central Library will welcome representatives from local charities including St John’s Hospice, Age UK, Wirral CVS, Claire House and Voluntary and Community Action Wirral on Thursday 20th June between 2:30pm and 5:30pm.
Cllr Chris Meaden, Cabinet Member for Health and Wellbeing said: “I’m pleased to be able to welcome these local organisations into Birkenhead Library. Wirral libraries service does a huge amount of work with the voluntary sector, raising awareness of charities and driving engagement with the local community.”
The library will be operating ‘tea rooms’ where visitors can purchase homemade cakes, tea and coffee for a small fee. All proceeds will go to cancer charity the Pink Ribbon Organisation.
For more information about the event, or if you work for an organization that would like to book a table, please call into Birkenhead Central Library or call 0151 606 2665.
