Hi, thought id put it here where people would be more interested.
I have a Dell Poweredge 1900 for sale. Its standard spec 2x150gb HDD model with the following specs:
Processor: Intel Xeon Dual Core 5130 / 2.00 GHz Memory: 16 GB / 16 GB (max) RAM installed: 16 GB DDR2 SDRAM
It comes with a 120gb tape drive too.
£80 ono however it weighs an absolute TONNE and would need collection from Liverpool City Centre offices (Old Hall Street)

I quite fancy the idea of a server in my house.
However am shit at IT; could I plug this in and use it to back up a couple of computers wirelessly and also store my itunes music on it etc.

Its basically a computer that designed to be always on. Its quite large (About the size of two towers) and there is space for 5 hard disks. You basically install Windows server or Linux or whatever and share everything via it. It can stay on forever.
Its big and the fans are pretty noisy but can store a lot of data. Might be a bit of overkill for a home server but depends how much stuff you have to share.
