The one with 3g will allow for mobile internet, it works the same as a data plan on a mobile phone but obviously will require a paid subscription to use the service. If you are not wanting to do that then the wifi only option would be better as that will connect to your wireless internet at home etc.

I would recommend buying the 3G tablet if you are likely to want to use outside any wifi areas. That is what i bought. I use a Samba mobile subscription which allows you to gain free credits just by watching adverts on my main computer, which then allows me free internet access when away from home. You do have to purchase a sim card but that is the only outlay. Look up Samba mobile, a great service!!

If you're going to use it mostly at home and you have wifi there then you're covered. Also, there are so many places these days that have free wifi for when you're out and about that you won't have too much trouble connecting. Depends on what you want to use it for - normal every day surfing the net when you're on the move or indoors - I have Galaxy tablet and am quite happy with the coverage I get using normal wifi

If you have a decent modern mobile with a good data plan and tethering you can use your mobile as a wi-fi hotspot.

I wasnt aware that the Nexus 7 done a 3G one?
I know there are 2 prices but that is because of storage space not if its 3G or not.

I bought mine when it first come out, its great for watching movies and such, but mine is the larger space one but only has wifi?

Make sure you check.
A newer one may have come on the market its just ive not read about it yet.

Hope that helps

Ive got the same as you Mark, early adopter fantastic little devices. They are now in 3G also Got a galaxy s2 7" tab also and beats this hands down....

No idea why you'd need the 3g though if you have a decent mobile data plan can tether from your phones 3g anyway....doesnt have to be expensive- my £10 a month sim only deal comes with 500mb which is more than adequete as most of the time im on wireless anyway
