Hello, I have just joined this website. I am trying to locate a photograph of Brow Farm, Bidston Hill. Overlaying old maps, we know it was situated in Worcester Road (off Hoylake Road) on the bend opposite to Keswick Place. According to leases between the Vyners and their tenants, it was built by George Holding, the miller, some time in the 1730's. By 1754 it was in occupation by John Hazlehurst and his wife, Grace, and the Hazlehurst family continued to lease it from the Vyners for the next 150 years. It was then occupied by the Povall family who had married into the Hazlehursts but the farm was demolished around 1936 to make way for the housing estate that now stands there. We have seen photographs of the cottages down Boundary Lane which were also occupied by Hazlehursts at one time but cannot locate a photo of Brow Farm. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. With many thanks.
