Sad indeed, theres no need for people to be homeless or on the streets in this day and age!

Shame on those who let this man down!

May his death be on your conscience! no

Very sad.
I don't know if he was a homeless person, but it's not always possible to help those people.

Remembering one man who would pass our office daily approx the same time, heading in the same direction. His trainers tied on with string, a short waist length jacket. His jeans had little left, only a thread preventing the front and the back from flapping up in the wind. That eventually snapped! His legs were purple, as was his face. He walked as if his every step was the last one, in such pain. Probably about 35/38yrs of age.
I went to the charity shop and got a coat for him, and a pair of trousers. He wouldn't take them. We offered mars bars and other foods, he wouldn't take them.
I phoned the Samaritans, and asked for advice. The advice given was, some people prefer to live that way and nothing can change the way they are. Then she asked if I was alright and needed any support. Very kind, but the poor man needed the help.
We had a really cold Christmas that year and after the holiday break, we never saw him again. I often wonder!
So although there are people willing to help, sometimes it's not so easy to get the response we would wish for.

Well Ste, I'd keep giving him the money. If, at that stage alcohol is his best friend, no one will change him. It may well keep him warm at nights. God help them in this weather.

During periods of extreme weather, lately, there was a phone number being shared on facebook to assist rough sleepers finding shelter, for the night.

I am unsure whether this number is applicable during less extreme weather (in the process of finding out but i cant see why not).

However, the number is 0300 123 2041 if anybody wants to ring it on behalf of a rough sleeper, if you see one. Store it on your phone- may just save a life!

I see the same faces in Birkenhead- I dont give them money but I do buy them a cup of tea or a hot dog fron the stand if I'm 'flush'.
