My gf has the original note, it is a decent phone and the screen size is brilliant for web surfing, watching videos, playing games etc. I have been considering getting the note 2 myself.
Oh and I wouldn't worry about getting 4g on this generation of phones, coverage is going to be patchy for a while yet so unless you are in a city centre 24/7 you won't be getting the speeds it offers anyway.

I've got one..love it.Means I can see my phone without glasses on. Screen is beautiful and CPU has plenty of grunt. It is bigger than most phones...but I'm well past wearing 'skinny jeans' Great for watching video or reading on and nice for browsing too I've had mine just over a month and very happy with it
If rumors are to believed, then this is the galaxy s4 (on right of pic) It is going to sport an OLED screen instead of traditional AMOLED displays. The new OLED display is thinner and lighter as compared to LED displays, it also consumes less amount of power and have long life.
