If you pull fuse or take bulb out, it will not pass mot.

And to be honest, with it being an airbag dont take chances get it sorted, if you brakes or seat belt where not working, you would get them fixed as they could very well save your life, same goes for airbag, pm turnip on here as I think his dad has the software

as when they switch ignition on the bulb lights up and then goes out if its all ok.

If the engine light, airbag light bulb failure light, abs light etc etc are not working, then mot stations will fail car.

On 1 January 2012, new rules were added to the current MOT by the Department for Transport (DfT) to comply with European testing procedures.

It's a pretty substantial list, but there's one addition that could mean big bills for thousands of drivers. If your car has any illuminated warning lamps, whether it is the airbag, seatbelt, ESP, SRS, ABS or others, it will soon fail the MOT.

It's not all bad news. If your car's MOT runs out before the 31 March 2012 and you have a warning light that needs addressing, the testers will treat it as an 'advisory', i.e. advice on what needs to be done for the next MOT.

However, if your MOT is due after 1 April 2012, you better get your skates on and get the warning light (or other faults in the list below) fixed, otherwise you'll receive the dreaded fail sheet.

The AA has kindly published a summary of the new rules. If you think your car needs attention on any of the points below but still has a long MOT left, we recommend getting it seen to sooner rather than later.

I think you find it will have, they light up when ignition switched on, and go out after about 3 seconds, if it has not done so, then either the bulb has blown or it has been taken out.

There is no way round it now, if it does not work or light is on, car will fail mot.

Why not give these lads a call. Great bunch and always reasonable. Might be something they can easily sort for you. Good luck with it.

Could be the occupancy sensor mat in the passenger seat. Not sure on lexarses but when they fail on BMs you can get a bypass unit for them far cheaper than replacing the mat in the seat.
