I believe that they are refurbishing the units there - re cladding etc. I heard that Halfords would be moving into one of them and that the present Halfords would be converted into a Drive through food outlet ( MacDonalds , KFC or the like)

They're splitting the whole former MFI/Carpetright building into 4 or 5 different retail units. Anything will be an improvement.
Hopefully they'll look at the entrance and exit to that place from the link road as it's not ideal. Could do with a resurfacing too.
