why do people block out the reg when selling cars? it can be seen as off putting as a lot of people like to check the reg out before hand
I think it's because people see others doing it and think that there is a scam somewhere that they are stopping, doesn't work too well if the car is for sale at the side of the road
The "scam" is people who clone your car (run round with the same plates as you), if a car of a type they have is up for sale they know that they can also get a log book for it, as if DVLA send out their "have you recently sold this car" notice if you have it won't get returned and log book gets issued (yes there is a little bit more to this but I'm not giving out a blueprint of how to do it here )
