Symphoricarpos albus. or Snowberry

Help..........can anyone tell me the best,quickest and most successful method of getting rid of Symphoricarpos albus,also known as snowberry. The stuff has taken off at the top of my garden even though I have attempted to see it off before. The conditions are obviously 'just right' for it! There is nothing else to worry about around it, so severe treatment would be possible.

Why would you want to get rid of such a delightful shrub? Don't get concerned about the talk of poisoning birds as they will never est the berries, at worst they will take them and spit them out, certainly won't digest the berries.If you do decide to cut it back make sure you cover your skin as it can cause a rash.

This delightful shrub has gone mad in the last couple of years.It is in fact growing all over the area of the compost.There is one nearer the house, and I wonder if the prunings which have been put on the compost heap in the past, have rooted. It's creepng across my lawn and I don't really want to dig that up. A job too hard for me to do now. Thanks for your advice on covering up Salmon.

I see, well sounds like you need a weed killer, Roundup is very effective on bindweed which has a similar root spread to Symphoricarpos Albus.wilkinson's own brand is very good as well and cheaper than brand names.
