Thank you Rocks and Trancentral for your kind remarks. It was great to meet some of the Wiki Members and I am sorry some missed it. Greasby Library always tickets it's talks which is best. Viking talks and others fill up quickly and the usual limit is fifty tickets, thats the reason I got there before 6.30pm yesterday.

Digging deeper did post earlier in this thread of anothedr date other than at a library for the talk:'Same talk also at Birkenhead History Society on 19th April at the Williamson Art Gallery'.

You might not know it but you cannot now phone a library direct. Your call is directed to a call centre and they then ring the library you want and then this call centrephone back if they cannot answer your query.
I asked for details of meetings at different libraries but this was beyond their scope!

Such alot of new information to me came out of the talk and it was presented in a very professional manner.

One of the best evenings, some years ago,was a Circle Dancing Party in the New Brighton Caves.Tim invited us all to his home and then we went into the caves via the garden entrance. Walked a short distance and came to a wider cavern lit by candles. What a wonderful setting to dance.
My grandmother worked at Mother Redcaps Cafe, so the talk brought back lots of good memories.

Yeh really good meeting you too Trancentral. Respect goes out to certain Wiki members, because let's face it, without them the talk wouldn't have been so interesting. Also if you ever need another "helper" the next time there's an expedition I'll gladly put my name in the hat, work permitting!
grin

We couldn't even go the pub either (which one) and we don't know enough people who we'd recognise from the Wiki.

Me Ste and digging stepper are going the next one

You can both come with us dude smile

Ok cheers Sarah_ZR, we'll look out for the next one thumbsup

If anyone is interested, Gavin will be giving this talk at Bromborough Civic Centre on the 21st of April at 1.30 PM.

It is one of a series of talks on throughout the day all part of a mind, body & spirit fair. It's £2 entry all day including the Tunnel's talk and all the other talks.

I'm not trying to advertise or anything but thought people may be interested as a few people missed out.

Gavin's going to be a busy man over the coming weeks by the sounds of it. He gave the talk for free at Greasby a few weeks ago and it was extremely popular. There was just one small poster up in the library and it filled out!
Fingers crossed he may have some new info on some Wallasey tunnels by then but I wouldn't want to drop any spoilers
